She definitely shows her age.
Ms. Reddy attempted disco with the 12" single "Make Love To Me" (1979) & Techno-pop with the 12" single "Imagination" (1983).![]()
She definitely shows her age.
Helen looks like she'd fit right in at the Dinah Shore Golf tournament in Palm Springs. Get my drift????![]()
Helen looking very Tyne Dalyesque...![]()
Even in her heyday, Helen was never the most feminine or glamorous of divas (even when she tried)-->Originally Written by markydefad

I doubt that anyone has much to say about her "I CAN'T HEAR YOU NO MORE " cut on her 1976 "MUSIC MUSIC " album ....which flirted with a semi- disco sound.....
*****
She also flirted w/disco on the cut "Ready Or Not" from her "We'll Sing In The Sunshine" album from '78. It was also recorded by Deborah Washington...remember her??
I just remembered another Helen Reddy dance track. It's a duet with Jessica Williams called "Mysterious Kind". It's on Williams' album "New Encounter"/"Love Hostage" from 1985. It's an import from Mexico & they spelled Helen's name Ready not Reddy.

I'm going to have to go with the Helen Reddy version. (Doubt that came as much of a surprise!) ;)Originally Written by remicks
As much as I like Helen Reddy, I have to say Bette Midler did the best version of Delta Dawn.

Hello Guys...How interesting to think of Helen Reddy on this website... :-? I remember as a kid that she was quite the pioneer in the women's rights movement of the early 70s and scored big with, "I Am Woman" a song that often plays in the background on 1970s documentaries. Some may think to scoff at her now, but I remember a time when she was totally accepted by the mainstream and was a big star! Her records were all over the A.M. radio stations. If I remember correctly, she was so "cool" that she was made a permanent host on Friday night's "Midnight Special". Helen's music along with other 70s artists was unique in a sense that it was a kind of music that both adults and teenagers liked...A concept uncommon today. If you notice, acts like Helen Reddy, Barry Manilow, Neil Sedaka, The Osmonds, etc. are "TOTAL" taboos on oldies radio stations today...But I do remember a time when these were really big artists with really big hits. Take Care... Mario 8)

Watcha' know .......back in the day I bought this one
IMAGINATION Helen Reddy :D
in its own special made pink and white Helen Reddy/Imagination 12" jacket ...on MCA IMPORT .... remixed to 5:22 with no credit toward who did it ....
It's not bad at all .. ( hey I bought it  and for 5.99... full price ) ... I'm now playing it repeatedly.... It's held up well to my ears ....
Very " LIKE A GHOST " with a MICKY ish drum pattern featuring steel drum ... haunting fake strings and horns ...
whispery vocal ala Deborah Harry (and as hard to understand ) ...
in fact if the DJ wanted to mess with you and told you that's who it was ....you'd have been at Aloha the next day asking Marky or Keef for that eerie Blondie IMAGINATION song ...:lol::oops:
then they'd pull out this one and say "you mean this ....?"
and then after you bought it and crawled away they'd talk about you the rest of the day !!! :p:lol::lol::lol:
