It's a tragically sad recording...
To coincide with her movie "Where The Boys Are '84", Lorna Luft recorded a 12" dance version of the Connie Francis song as 'Lorna' & it featured The Village People on backup. (Her version did not appear in the movie). If anyone has heard it, what do you think? I find it bizarre & unfocused.![]()

This is one of those songs you want to forget....and I have a connection with "Where The Boys Are '84" because I am actually in a brief half-second shot of the movie when it was being filmed at Shooters/Bootlegger's on the intracoastal in Ft Lauderdale. I didn't realize that those brief background vocals were the Village People. I just thought they were sound-a-likes. Seriously, it's no surprise that this song was no hit!

I love Linda Imperial's version (1998).
I usually find anything produced by Joel Diamond for Silver Blue Productions sucks. His stuff is usually tres camp but not very good. (& I'm usually a fan of camp disco; I even like the Ethel Merman LP! :o )
This record is a waste of vinyl and space. I have never sold any of my records, but now when you remind me of it, I think I will auction it on ebay or something.. :)
