Hi there Greg. I know i'm a bit late of the mark (oops  )
but love the new album Credit to the Edit!!!! It's worth it just for the Yello re-edit. I have always loved Yello but especially 'Lost again'.
Great work. Don't be long with the next one! LOL!
Thanks Davicillo :)Originally Written by Davicillo

Vinyl 3 about to be released:

Rockers Revenge 'sunshine'
Salsoul Orchestra 'ooh, I love it (love break)'
Hi Greg, I too love the album specially the Chic edit. Finally a Dance dance dance version I can play out with decent beats.
I see the album is Vol 1. Does that mean there'll be a volume 2?
Hello there,
i want to buy this cd but need to know one thing are the edits sticking to original sound or is it completely remixed and you dont recognise the song at all, i do prefer when it sticks to the original sound, i DONT LIKE those false beats and bass added on... let me know thanx RU !
Keeps to the original!!

Hi dbmc: Tirk, the label who put the album out, have asked me to do a second volume. Haven't had chance to put my head to it yet, so I'd imagine it'll be at least a year off.

The majority of tracks chosen for the Credit To The Edit project were ones I’d already edited and was playing out. The remainder were records I’d wanted to edit, but hadn’t yet got around to doing. I don’t have a set approach, it’s more a matter of cutting your cloth accordingly – sometimes I only use a couple of sections of a track, looping them around and adding overdubs, whilst with others I keep pretty close to the original arrangement, just extending without adding any new elements. Then there’s the ‘mash-ups’, a contemporary term for something I was doing in a live context as soon as acappellas began to appear on dance releases, back in 1982.
Thanks Greg,
Some of my all time fave tracks are on the album (WoodBeez, I Feel For You, Dance dance dance) so I'm loving it.
The great thing about edits is that it can expose some great overlooked tracks to new people- who then go on to track down the original. I'm diggin' some more Yello at present. Such a forward sound.
