The 16 minute version is the LP version, which is the longest version available. After that there are various single edits. There wasn't any special disco remix as far as I know.Originally Written by Sapphire

And yet another question on versions of a song...
Well I am aware of two versions of Donna Summer's "Love To Love You Baby". The short one they play on the radio, and the longer one with the extended "noises" lol. Well I was wondering which one is the original, the very first one that came out in the '70s. I also heard there was a 16 minute-long version. Anyone know which is the original, and how many different versions of the song there are? Thanks.

According to what I've read--first there was the short single version; Neil Bogart, president of Casablanca, played it at a party and asked Giorgio Moroder to make it loooooooooooooooonger....which he did. Going back into the studio, he added that whole long instrumental version and then added the opening single version all over again unto the end and had a 16+ minute version---which took up the whole side of an LP.
Wow I guess Giorgio Moroder got a little carried away there lol. Thanks for replying guys. :)
There is a video for love to love you baby!
its avalable through promo only dvd club classics.
i cant wait to get mine ,its also got born to be alive and other disco videos.
sonic.
By 'promo only' do you mean the videos were promo films or the DVD is not available through retailers? Did she do a promo film for that track? It's possible it could be a fake video taking snippets from videos of her later songs ('She Works Hard For The Money' 'This Time I Know It's For Real') and putting it to one of her old songs. I think I've seen one such video for Bad Girls or Hot Stuff.Originally Written by djsonic

My understanding is that there are two different recordings by Donna & Co on this one: the first was a short version that was released as a 7" single in Europe, before they'd signed to Casablanca. The second one was the loooooong one done at Bogart's request. The US 7" single version, as well as the various 'radio' versions found on all the compilations are edits of the side-long track. I've never heard the original short version...
There were 2 different pressings of the original Oasis 7" single (#OC 401) released in the US. The first pressing has "Love To Love You Baby on the "A" side and "Need A Man Blues" on the flip. The second pressing (much more commonly found) has a 4:57 version of LTLYB the "A" side as well as a 3:27 version on the "B" side. I believe both of these versions were remixed from the first pressing. I do not know the running times of the first pressing, unfortunately. But perhaps someone else reading this might....
