Only 12" version I've seen is by Geraldine Hunt. You're right though, Cissy's original is excellent!

Maybe someone here can tell me if there ever was a 12" release of this number from Cissy Houston on her Step Aside For A Lady album.I came across it this evening while doing some cataloguing and it's killer.I've never seen this number discussed or mentioned. I know there was a 12" release of You're The Fire and Gonna Take The Easy way Out but IMHO this should have been the lead off promo number.I just keep playing it over and over.I can't believe I missed this one BITD.Backup vocals are credited to Luther VanDross and Jocelyn Brown :o

Ya, why no 12" ???
Even without it ....as an album cut , it reached #24 on the Bilboard disco chart in April 1980 .... (and that would be impressive for an album cut at this stage of the disco game)
The 12" was of :
(b/w YOU'RE THE FIRE)
With its high strung, IF MY FRIENDS COULD SEE ME NOW, like elements--- but in 1980 : one of the conclusive old-fashioned "DISCO' releases .
( & yes toward the end , ..... you can hear Luther on it ) :
******
