    Funk Fusion Band

    Hello,

all I got is an US 12" of "Can you feel it" on WMOT.
What other records are available of this group ?
( Not even GEMM brought any clues ).

    Thanks and greetings.

    Hi,

I mean a group called Funk Fusion Band. The only material I know about is this 12" - Can you feel it-, which was issued on WMOT Records in 1981. Created and edited by Nick Martinelli.
Google is useless as you get plenty of results with Funk and Fusion and Band, but nothing in relation to this group.
    GEMM doesn`t give any results.
So, anybody got a clue ?

    Cheers

    Hello sharknbake,

I don’t think you will find anything else by Funk Fusion Band because it looks like the Funk Fusion Band name was just made up and used for the WMOT 12 inch only (I don’t know if a 7 inch was issued or if any follow up singles came out).
The Funk Fusion Band 12 inch is just a good re-working of Asphalt Jungle “Freakin’ Time” on TEC records from 1979 hence the line created and edited by Nick Martinelli etc., on the WMOT 12 inch.
I would suggest searching out a copy of Asphalt Jungle “Freakin’ Time” from memory it’s got a bit more vocals in it, basically it’s “Can I freak you baby” instead of “Can you feel it”

And they were both by the same writers/producers.

just got a listen to Asphalt Jungle - all 3 tunes seem to be the same! just a little different mixing done.

I wondered why the 'Feelabella' recording didn't sound like an 84 issue. Now I have the answer - anyway, found out that Quincy Jones was involved into that.
The record still can be found for cheap - great song!
