It's 'Give it up or turn it loose'.
Its a james brown track with said lyrics. Anybody know the name of it?. I`m not totally sure but i didnt think it was called clap your hands, stomp your feet. It was a favorite amoungst the old school break dj`s and still sounds class.

This song was a moster hit in Miami clubs in the mid 70's, many clubs used to play it just at the end of a busy night, the version you are looking for is off the Live "Sex Machine" LP recorded in Augusta Georgia in '69, it is available on CD, the regular studio version on the 50th Aniversary CD is not the same, also there is a Curtis Blow "History of Rap" (or similar name) that had this live cut among many others, but I was never able to find this one (for other cuts). I read on Amason's reviews that Bootsy Collins was the bass player on this LP, I didn't know that until today.
Just last night I watched the James Brown at the "House of Blues" dvd, very entertaining with great sound quality but James is not what he used to be (who is?) and many songs are only 30 seconds long, but if you like his music you'll enjoy this DVD.
You might want to check out the current reissue of In the jungle groove that features this tune remixed. I'm not sure if you prefer the live, original, or remix but this is a solid starting ground for his funk work.
Yeah, Bootsy and brother Phelps, along with their bandmates, replaced the James Brown Orchestra which had defected with 'leader' Maceo Parker. They were the first 'JBs', but left in mid-71 to do their own thing as the Complete Strangers and eventually joined Parliament Funkadelic. Bootsy's all over tracks like Get Up I Feel Like A Sex Machine, Soul Power, Get Up Get Into Get Involved, and Super Bad.Originally Written by Mixmachine

Apparently the band walk off in late '69, just before this recording I guess, I just listened to this cut again and just now noticed that near the end of the "Clap your hands" break down and just before the bass kicks in , James says "Bootsy", :o never caught this before! :o :roll:Originally Written by Disco Funk
Yup. I remember a number of years ago there was a documentary about James Brown, or maybe it was about soul music. Anyway, they showed footage of Bootsy with James Brown and the JBs at the Apollo, and Bootsy was doing some crazy bass guitar solo. I think it was filmed in '70. Very short clip, but so cool.Originally Written by Mixmachine
