Which came first, the chicken or the egg?

Did a disco classic as "Good Times" by Chic or "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" by McFadden & Whitehead start at clubs or on the radio stations? :)

Chic was very HOT property when Good Times was released. In the USA where disco radio abounded, I'd bet it was started by both disco and radio play.

Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now was possibly started more by the disco crowd initially, although you'd always find the odd few radio jocks into hot product.

A combination of the two made mega hits and they both needed each other for the flames of Disco to keep burning. Once radio jumped ship (in the USA) look what happened.

At the time, I don't think neither cut was considered "Disco"__ I would say both tunes were considered more "soul"(R&B) than "disco". After time the songs were "lumped" into the disco genre. At least here in the states__ So I would say on the "soul" radio charts. That's my opinion.

I remember hearing "Good Times" at roller skating rinks, of all places! Mario
