The Spinners. "Yesterday Once More/Nothing Remains The Same". (Atlantic)
Who did the 1980 dance version of Karen Carpenter's "Yesterday once more" (black male voice)?

"Lost inside adorable illusion...."
"Yesterday Once More" was also covered by Quantize (one of this group's many cover versions!) sometime in the early '90s on the Passion label. It even opened with the oft-sampled "What we're gonna do right here is go back... way back...."
\"...a once in a lifetime feeling that returns every week...\"
I could not think of the name Quantize and it was driving me crazy.
I knew there was an early 90's version but the name just wouldn't come to me. I kept thinking Obsession. If you remember, they did a cover of "Love Insurance" around 1990.
Yep, just as Quantize was one of the Passion label's cover bands, Obsession filled the same role at the U.K.'s Almighty Records in the early '90s.
Both groups were faceless studio groups as far as I know; I mean, I'm not aware of any live performances or even photos or names! But maybe they performed in Europe... Anyone know?
