49 cents ....... can I get my money back ??

    *****

Let's face it ....as much as we all love the music .... there's a
    bunch of it that is ........ :P :P :P !!

And I don't mean ones that were hits that you personally for whatever reason don't respond to..... say "RING MY BELL " maybe perhaps .... I mean the ones that are universally across the board bad ....dead in the water ...... never shoulda happened types.

I just recently bought Bette Midler's "MARRIED MEN " on 12 " ..for 49 cents ..... yep it still happens once in awhile. I like Bette and for some reason .... I couldn't recall why ....this one slipped by me and everyone else . But being a Bette fan and knowing how popular a release by her should've been ....... I knew to be suspicious ...

So now I've played it. It is sooo bad ..... I want my fifty cents back !!! :P
    :P

Nevermind the lame music itself that trods along complete with outdated FOXY type "oooa" "oooa"s , the repeated meaningless line of "THEY DO IT , THEY DO IT, THEY DO IT, ...MARRIED MEN" and the way very little is stretched and repeated so it becomes an eight minute version that feels like 20 ...... ..
but what a stupid song anyway! Who wants to dance to some dumb b*** whining about how unfair it is ..... the sorry way she gets treated by the married men she's dating :P Are we supposed to feel sorry for you ... ..or what ??? ( Especially while dancing at 126 BPM's?) What an ill-conceived topic for a song ..... let alone a dance song ....

I guess its so supposed to be clever campiness .... but even coming from Bette .... it's really simply classlessness . ..
Her nasal voice is often on the edge of being annoying anyway and this performance is an example of that ... :P

I'd much rather spend the fifty cents on extra cheese !!!

OK ..I've got that off my chest !!! :D

Anyone else got one like this? One that you'd like a fifty cent refund for ??? :D :D

Hahaha, I could 've told you, this 12" was serviced by the local pools and I probably drop the needle on it for 30 seconds and it never so a TT again, I don't even know what the song is about, the only decent Disco song she made was her version of "Stranger in the Night" nice campy one that was fun at the dance floor for a while.

As far as asking for my money back, I didn't pay directly (Pool dues) for Ralph Mcdonals "What a fools believe" 12", it was a promo, but can I ask for a refund anyways?

I find certain tracks within the albums sometimes imitate other songs by that artist or another artist. It takes away from the album and the artist's integrity but is usually listenable.

I also collect soul CDs from the 1990's. Most of them have about 5 exceptional cuts on them. Then a couple of uptempo tracks makes you run to the skip button. One minute the artists is singing a classic and the next is filler. One artist like this is Christopher Williams.

That was funny remicks. At least it only cost ya 49 cents.
The few things I heard from Bette never made we wanna buy anything she did related to disco. Around '81/'82 I did usher one of her shows in Boston and she was very entertaining and the queens there just couldn't get enough of the show. I'd be more apt to spend money for her shows than her music per se.
As for some of the crap I bought that sucked...I'll have to give it some thought. I know I got 'em.
