It sounds like it might be Al Hudson and One Way's "Music".
Lyrics do sound a bit like the Blackbyrds "Happy Music" but not exactly.
I'm trying to find out who the artist is on this disco song.
It's a smooth male vocalist with female backup, almost sounds like the woman who sings on Bohannon - Dance.
"there's nothing I love more than music, sweet music
Don't ever take my music away
I gotta have my music, funky music, makes you wanna move
Music, funky music puts you in the groove"
thanks alot

Thanks, you were right on with Al Hudson - Music.
I found this track on one of those unoficial rerelease 12"s without artists credit. I'm glad I finally found out who the real artists is so I can find the oficial pressing.
yeah that is a slept on jam.
What's even a bigger crime is the 20th century masters Millenium collection that Geffen/Universal just put out on One Way. Only 1 new track to CD, "Don't stop" a ballad from the mid 1980's. Unfortunately, I had to buy "Music" on a compilation with other artists.
On that new mid-line One Way best of, Universal again insists upon combining Alicia Myers and Al Hudson and the Partners. And as a slap in the face "I want to thank you" is not in the track listing. Only 11 cuts and some radio edits!
It's a rip-off and to make matters worse Universal is going to take One Way off their list if this rehash does not sell well.
you are soooo right. I have looked everywhere for a good one way greatest hits cd. although they have two out they are both horrible. and alicia myers has enough material of her own to have a wonderful greatest hits cd. I took don't stop off of my lp.
I can think of at least eight more songs that one way could add or replace a couple of tunes on their current greatest hits cd.
