Back on July 17--two months ago from today--I purchased two Debbie Jacobs CDs from Get Disconnected, Undercover Lover and High on Your Love. I had initially found these CDs for sale at Amazon, but since I knew the CDs came from Get Disconnected, I thought it made sense to deal with them directly, and I also wanted to give my business to the small independent rather than the giant.
I paid for the CDs immediately through PayPal--then waited. And waited. I finally wrote to them on Aug. 7 to inquire about the status of my order and after a few more e-mails was told that the UL CD would be mailed on Aug. 11--but not the HoYL CD because there was a manufacturing delay. I can accept that the delay on HoYL might have been beyond their control, but even the UL CD never showed up until Aug. 30.
The Get Disconnected Web site later added an announcement that there was a manufacturing delay for some of their CDs, and that they would be available on Aug. 31. Not surprisingly, I still have not received a copy of the HoYL CD--which I paid for two months ago--and two recent inquiries about the status of my order have gone unanswered.
I had been really happy to see these Debbie Jacobs albums finally available on CD, but now I'm twice as frustrated with the way Get Disconnected does business.
