Trax in soho, they tend to have more cd's these days though.
They do a lot of Best of's.
The best place is Nottinghill Gate, there's about 5 shops, Most have basements where vinyl is 25-50p, be prepared to spend hours and get very dirty, but you can find a few gems.

record and tape exchange at Notting hill is the one Charlie is referring too, its just by Nottinghill gate tube station. There is also a branch at Sheperds bush, ask them to direct you.

There's also a Tape Exchange down Berwick street, off Oxford Street. And, you'll find one of the few remaining Reckless record stores down there too. I know where there are some other good 'uns around London, where you could get some real bargains...But I'll keep those shops under wraps.

Haggle at 114 Essex Road near Angel st station - undiscovered by many but absolutely filled with vinyl, cheap, interesting, lots of stuff, only you need to change clothes after going thru it - dirty and dusty in the extreme.

Haggle Vinyl used to be quite cheapo, but lately the music is pretty pricey from what I've seen. If you can wait until the first saturday of the month, check out the Electric Ballroom (A BITD discotheque ) in Camden, where they sometimes hold records fairs....A brill place to haggle with peeps who don't wanna carry a load of vinyl back home.

    Hi EnergyGuy,
Definitely check Haggle on Essex Rd. also up the road (back towards Islington Green) is Flashback lots of good stuff downstairs.
If you come to camden town (where i live!) Reckless Records are currently having a closing down sale - been picking up all the things i've been pondering for months and you can listen first too. Their main branch is on Berwick St. in Soho.
Also in camden is a branch of MVE (downstairs for the best stuff) and a couple of other 2nd hand places in Inverness St. Plus stalls when the market's on (sat & sun) but you'll have to fight your way through the Goth tourists!
    Happy Hunting!
