The article brought back memories of the early days of Ipanema. It was a hangout for snooty cariocas and paulistas back then, Later, it became a bit more cosmopolitan and eventually, it was largely boricua (around the same time frame whem Pinky left). That would have been about the time they started advertising on TV (WOR-TV Channel 9).
Amazingly, I didn't realize Pinky spun on the Brasilian nights. I didn't know him yet and wasn't in the pool (and I was probably polluted.....enough about that).
