    Atlantiquity

If you haven't already, check out the "Atlantiquity" CD, featuring remixes of well-known tracks from the Atlantic Records vault. The clear winner to my ears is King Britt's remix of Chic's "A Warm Summer Night." He has reimagined this gently flawless track as a percussive night dance. That warm summer breeze still floats by your ear, but now you can move to it. Other artists on the CD include Sister Sledge, Average White Band, The Spinners, Kleeer, Slave and more.

Is there any more blasphemy? This just like the Mayfield remix set is pure garbage. To rewrite history is obscene.

"A WARM SUMMER NIGHT " does sound pretty good

Not enough to offset the rest though .... A quick listen to any one of the samples of "I'LL BE AROUND".... "PICK UP THE PIECES" .... or .... "WE ARE FAMILY" ........ will activate the reject button .....

Heard it, don't like it. Urgh! Same goes for the Motown one too.
Sorry to anyone who does like it.

I wasn't excited by any of the other remixes, it was just "Summer Night" that I thought was cleverly done, so I was glad I could buy just that one track from Rhapsody. Although I expect there is a lot of make-a-buck cynicism involved in these types of productions, it may help to bring classic songs/performers to the attention of younger listeners. For myself, however, the remixes rarely hold my affection for long--perhaps that's why there are so many used copies floating around as Quinny noted.

I agree with remicks. Give me "Warm Summer Night" without the rest of the junk and I could deal. But I have to say, anyone who fucks with :o and fucks up  "I'll Be Around" will never see my money.

    NickNack--

You said it! The Spinners "I'll Be Around" is note perfect from beginning to end.
