    damaged vinyl

This is not an offer to trade and is really directed to the UK guys (in particular Energyguy and Sandra Dee) in Manchester.

I had a flood in my store this weekend and it damaged a fair number of record covers. The records themselves seem ok. It has made me think about what I should do with them. Would records with water damaged covers have any value? I don't know whether to go and see Vinyl Exchange and ask but I have never sold a record before so have no idea what to do.

    Any ideas?

If any are in plain covers like some of the first record shack releases (black, no picture sleeve), just get a crappy record cheap, and replace it. If some picci sleeves, just chase round charity shops and check they have knackered records with decent sleeves. There worth 50p!!
Ive replaced many picci sleeves that way.

The picture sleeve is only of value with collectable records, to be honest. Beatles, Stones etc etc. I think for most disco / hi-nrg collectors, it's the vinyl that counts.

Yeah - in many instances the sleeves do not matter unless it is a rare classic !
BTW - Where is your store in Manchester ? What kinds of vinyl do you stock ? Any HI-NRG !! ??

I meant my basement storage area in the block of flats I live in. Sorry that wasn't clear. The records are all my presonal colection. Fortunately most of my favourite 12" singles were undamaged.
