    The HI-NRG story....

Are there any books dedicated to the HI-NRG genre ??
I have a couple of goods Disco/dance music books that "touch" on this genre but I wondered if anyone had written a book entirely on this style of music ??

None that I know of, there is of course the now never to be released film, but that cocentrates soley on Levines output and therefore misses great chunks of Hi Nrg history.
Writing a book would be an excellent idea , however I feel its appeal may be somewhat limited. That's not to say that it wouldn't be a worthwhile venture. Go to it Neil.

I'm wondering Neil whether Dance through the 80's might serve better as you could include Euro and Pop dance etc.

If you include SAW later on, no doubt a few more would buy it, considering their work is quite collectable. (And more mainstream)

PS: Could I have my copy without the SAW info! ;)

The main book I've read that was focused on Hi-NRG was David Diebold's "Tribal Rites" though that was specifically about the San Francisco scene (Megatone, Moby Dick, etc.) and of course Mike Stock and Pete Waterman of Stock/Aitken/Waterman - PWL have both written books, Pete Waterman's autobiography "I Wish I Was Me" which has a few chapters on his SAW days and Mike Stock's "The Hit Factory" but I'd love to read a book about the whole evolution of the Hi-NRG scene internationally.

And I'm guessing one of the books you may have already read is "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" which has a short section on Hi-NRG.

I really liked "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life" too. The only complaint I had about it was the section on Hi-NRG was so short! :D
