'78 disco song, glam song wanted

Hello.
I was overhearing a 70's disco song in a railway station's pub, so I could not ask what it was though it sounded familiar to me. It was playing with other songs like "Think" by Aretha Franklin or Saturday Night Fever stuff, so I suppose, it could maybe be on a disco sampler CD.
I automatically think of the year '78 and glam rock, silver glitter and disco mirror balls an people like Gary Glitter, David Bowie or Amanda Lear when hearing the melody. (though it may not have to do with any of them at all?)
It sounded electronic, like keyboards, glamourous, "glittering" and there was a dark, sexy (femle? male? a bit like Amanda Lear) voice singing, almost talking whispering. I only understood the words "I am alone" in the chorus, but this also might be wrong...
It is a familiar song I have already heard , but I don't know which one...
Can anyone help me?

As I said, I was not close enough (I was outside the pub on the platform waiting for the train) and could not ask. The melody was familiar to me, but I could not understand the lyrics as my friend was talking to me. :(
