I just put on some headphones and listened intently to "LAST DANCE " . What a glorious gift you gave us. It is all one could hope for in a disco record .... sophisticated sentimental lyrics performed with phrasing executed so seamlessly by Donna Summer. The arrangement .... the ups and downs .... the quiets: the crescendos..... judicious use of every deserving instrument ...strings .... piano .... boppin' bass line .... horn punches .... synths ....woodwinds .... drums (real) ....more strings ....


I don't know who you had in mind .... who moved you so to enable you to evoke such magnificence . Polished and perfected ... It's nothing short of a masterpiece ..... Listened to it a dozen times just now and each time ....something more to love .....
That final deliberate blast of a note and then the silence .... leaving no doubt the song is over .... even though I wish it wasn't ....
godamm I wish I could write you a thank you letter .............
