    £££££££££££ / $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ ?

What's the most "valuable" Hi-NRG tune you're aware of?

What was it and how much?

I'm in the process of happily bidding upto $25 for a particular track on ebay, but there must be others out there which fetch high prices?

I remember in the late 90s being in Octave On High in NYC where they sold a lot of high priced NRG rarities and I asked what the most collectable/highest priced records they would sell were. The three they mentioned being very collectable were all actually Sleaze/Morning Music type tracks though: Agnetha Faltskog's "Wrap Your Arms Around Me," The Dream Academy "The Love Parade," and the Ballroom Remix of "Love Is In The Air" by John Paul Young which all sold for around 200$ there. Of course with ebay it's all changed and I've seen those records sell for under $10 now.

Another one I've heard of as being very expensive/collectable is the Disconet remix of ABBA's "Lay All Your Love On Me."

Yes E bay has certainly changede everything, I remember being asked $200 for Cut Glass's " without your love" back in the mid 80's , I've since seen in for much much less.

    Hey Gun :)

I used to have the Abba Disconet remix - B.E.!

    (B.E. = Before Ebay)

Sold it to a guy in America I'd chated to on another Hi-nrg forum. Along with about 30 other Disconets. :(

There was also a remix of Yoko Ono's Walking On Thin Ice in that lot somewhere.

Oh I've got that 12"; it's at my dad's place as I never feel the need to play it really. Quality pop track. Pop was so well-produced & classy in the 80s; whatever happened? :-?

Down 'ere, there have only been 2 tracks that have chaged hands for loads of money.

    1. Curtie & the Boombox - Black Kisses
A truly massive track down 'ere, still. It came out in '85 and was only availible for a matter of months. I still get asked to play it and have heard reports that the track is changing hands
    for £60!!!

    2. Slimline - You can dance you can do it.
Not Hinrg but another track that chaged hands for silly money!
championed by a DJ in a club near Chichester in 1986, it had been deleted for ages. The popularity grew & grew and it spread along to Worthing. I saw it advertised in a second hand record store for £45!! Outrageous!!

I know in the early 80s, the Disconet and Hot tracks stuff were really scarce eg; the Disconet mix of 'I feel love' was going for £50 on cassette!! Nowadays it's much easier to obtain these mixes, especially with the internet.

    Hey Davi :)

I have the Curtie 12" but German RCA issue. Picked it up from Funrecords.com (cheap as chips matey!)

I bought a hard trance 12" from them (knowing it was collectable), for less than a fiver and sold it on ebay for £80.

Apart from the bigger tracks, there are many tracks that are popular in smaller areas within the country. It's strange, what people ask for in Bognor Regis is completely different to Worthing. You could sell any Hinrg 12" in Worthing through the 80's, but in Bognor, they wouldn't touch it, and we are only 15 miles apart!!!

speaking of Sinitta, actually I've seen the USA promo CD5 for her "Hitchin' A Ride" single go for over $100 a couple times. There are a few of those PWL tracks that go for a lot of money on CD5 like The Twins "All Mixed Up," Delage "Running Back for More," and the PWL remix of Sandra's "Everlasting Love" often top the $100 mark on ebay.

I've got that 12". It's a US copy on Prelude from '82 & it's written/produced by Mike Leander of The Glitter Band which is a bit bizarre! :-? Would i get much for it in the grim North?

    Hi Sandradee,
    How's you?
Well, I think the hysteria over that track has died down but it's an area thing. There are probably tracks that are played up norf that die a death down here.
