    SOUL CROSSOVERS TO HINRG CHARTS

    When the Record Mirror printed their Hinrg charts, a few records that were in the soul chart crossed over into the Hinrg charts. Many of them were not strictly hinrg but they were given airplay in hinrg clubs. Which one's do you like?

    I personally like;
    Simplicious - Let her feel it
    Gwen McCrae - Keep the fires burning
    Shirley Lites - Heat you up melt you down
    Class Action - Weekend (Levan mix)

    Any offers?

    I bought Simplicious on import and still love it :)

    Also out around the same time and getting played in our gay club was Skipworth & Turner's - Thinking About Your Love.

    Jocelyn Brown - Somebody Elses Guy
    Shannon - Let The Music Play
    Yvonne Gage - Doin It In A Haunted House

    That Class Action track has been around several times and still stands out!!

    perfect beats but not h-nrg. ;)

    The earlier 'Boystown' charts from '82 featured quite alot of funkier tracks (as well as pure pop like Soft Cell & Human League) such as Evelyn King's 'Love Come Down', Rockers Revenge 'Walking On Sunshine', Q 'Voice Of Q', Odyssey 'Inside Out', D Train 'Keep On', Aretha's 'Jump To It', Shalamar's 'There It Is', Garys Gang's 'Knock Me Out', Extra T's 'E.T.Boogie', Marvin Gaye's 'Sexual Healing', Raw Silk's 'Do It to The Music', Whodini's 'Magics Wand'(rap in the hi-nrg charts!!) & Yarbrough & Peoples 'Heartbeats'. Not very hi-nrg at all!

    Adore Q - The Voice Of Q :)

    and the dub of Do It To The Music is superb, as is Just In Time (Dub Just In Time & Space) n EXCELLENT.

    Been listening to the original version of Weekend - by Phreeek, good ol Patrick Adams at the helm.
