They did release a Mike Hemmer track early on.. (KISS ME) DIVINE.Originally Written by marmite7
Rather akin to Klone & Almighty in my opinion, BUT I'm 100% sure I used to have a top tune from this label.
Woulda been early on in their releases, but for the life of me, can't flippin remember it.
Anyone wanna try out some titles?
Why does the name Mike Hemmer (Hammer) ring a bell?
Am I going mad?????

Hey Neil
Was it any good?
Yes 'Divine' was an early release.
They also licensed Sweet Connection 'Heart to heart' over here.
It started to release mainly Euro stuff 'round about 1989. distributed by the importers Greyhound.
The Mike Hammer track is fantastic.Licenced from Italian Time records.Very similar in style to Dead Or Alive/Divine.Loading Bay licenced many tracks from this Italian label.
Talking of Loadingbay, I have a lot of their 12"s that I'm looking to shift, anyone out their ? Let me know what you after.
Charlie
Have you checked my wants again? Astaire now added and I'd love that Mike Hemmer 12".

Charlie
Hi marmite7:
I've just read your messages. What Astaire and Mike Hammer 12-inches are you looking for? Perhaps I can help you out.
Mag
Has anyone else bought the new LOADING BAY remixes CD.. "LOAD THIS !"
It`s a great compilation of the labels hit releases and has some fine remixes. My favourite mix is "Even if you Say" by Nilla Backman![]()
I love Barbara Doust 'If You Love Somebody(Munich Mix)...always had a thing for that song....but my favourite is Susanne Meals 'Forever'.
It's just a beautiful piece of music !!!!.
Only thing that dissappoints me about the CD,is the fact that they have included Tracy Cole's dreadful version of 'Where Were You Last Night',instead of the superb Ankie Bagger original version,(my favourite ever song !!!).
I remember that song was so big in the clubs in 1990.
Still,it's definately worth buying....nostalga by the bucketload !!!!!!.
This 2-cd set is great. I think I said that before in another thread. I hope there will be a volume 2. In particular I'd love to see new remixes of tracks that appeared on the former HOTSOUND label. I said "former" because I don't know if the label still exists.
Well it look like the lads from boystown music are gonna be selling cd compilations very soon, all those fave nrg mixes for the 80s and early 90s remixed, but still got that magical sound.ill be ordering mine ...:icon_razz: :icon_razz:

I tried my best to get the Ankie Bagger version, but Universal (who now owns it) wanted an advance payment which was more than all the other licenced tracks on the album. They wouldn't enter into any negotiations on the price, and I was really disappointed about it. It would have made it a financial disaster that I couldn't afford, and would have made sure it was the last release in this series.
Asking Almighty to record the vocals for me was a compromise for those who wanted the song included. It was that or not have the song at all.
At least you have the choice to skip it. :icon_biggrin:
Mike
There may be something from HOTSOUND appearing on the next album, but if anyone knows where Michiel van der Kuy is, of MADE UP Records, then please let me know at mike@sirenstorm.com I've been trying to trace him for the past eight months.
Mike
There's a contact phone number for Germany on the sleeves of some of the MADE UP releases. I used the number that's printed on the back of "Do You Want Me" by Sauvage, I called there, but the number has been disconnected -- sorry, I know that this doesn't help at all. It's probably a booking number which was disconnected a long time aog.
I for one would be interested in a new (re-)mix of this song and the tracks that were released under the name Primero (e.g., "Oh que calor!").
The closest I've got to finding him is http://www.rygar.nl/
Unfortunately, there's no reply to emails, and it doesn't appear to have been updated for some time. Even Michiel van der Kuy's former production partners at HOTSOUND don't know where he is.
Hi Mike, I don't want you to think that i'm unhappy in any way with the CD,i think you've done a great job as usual getting some great tracks for this album. As i said it's 'Nostalga by the bucketload'.
A shame about the Ankie Bagger version, and that Universal were being a little bit greedy !!!!!!.
Keep up the great work, and can't wait for the next instalment !!!!!!.
Its rather odd that such a big company like Universal would not agree a deal over a track like this... I can`t imagine them doing much with a song like this when they own many other more "commercial" material.
Mike - Please keep us posted on any further projects/releases !
I couldn't imagine it either, but all the majors are the same. I also tried to license Ti Sento from Virgin EMI, as it was a special track for Duncan, and was played at his funeral.
EMI had an identical story.
Both companies have a worldwide system where licensing any track from them for a non-TV-advertised compilation album costs £1,000 advance payment. If it was a TV advertised album it would be a lot more.
I explained how they were old tracks which weren't available on CD in their full versions, and that it was a limited edition CD for a niche market, but both companies were "unable" to negotiate any other deal. They were bound to their international standard licensing package.
That's why both the songs were covered for the album, imitating the original productions.
It's probably also why so much older music disappears into obscurity.
