It would help to know if it's a male or female vocal---also approx. what era? :-? :o :-? :o

The phrase "far from over" brings to mind a 12" I have with that title by Frank Stallone from the "Stayin' Alive" movie starring John Travolta. However, I haven't listened for a long time so it's a wild, wild, wild, wild, wild, wild guess.

Quelle surprise!!! I found a sample and damn if it isn't the song!!! FAR FROM OVER by Frank Stallone (Sylvester's bro/ Sly directed the movie) from the 1983 movie "Staying Alive" soundtrack on RSO records.
