    Motown Box- Opinions

What are your opinions of the new 4cd Motown all-sterio box set? Many tracks are extended or mixed additionally with much rechannelling. Some voices or instruments are louder; some are softer.
I bought it for the rare Gladys Knight and the Pips b-side "Steppin closer to your heart".
Is this new set a treasure or blasphemy?

    Eddie-I have to thank you
for allerting me to this-it looks fantastic.I have
both box sets that were released years ago and I have to tell you,I am not
    a fan of "mono".I can't
    tell you how many times
I have had to re-buy compilations because they
were remixed to sound better. And I admit, when it comes to Motown I'm
the first in line. That said, reading the reviews on Amazon I screamed when
I read that my hero Tom
Moulton did the remixing-YIPEE! someone was complaining about the "stereo seperation"
blah blah, but I cannot wait to hear tracks like
    Chris Clark's "loves gone
    bad"(fierce track)and
    Brenda Holloway's "look
    what you've done"(early
    Gallery track)in a stereo
    mix.
I was just going to post
a new thread about a new
2 CD comp I just got in the mail called "motown disco"-please check it out.Thankyou Eddie!
