I had a townhouse about 14 years ago and she also lived in the same complex. I saw her at the pool a few times.
I remember while I lived in Miami during 78'-81.She was rockin'...it was around 79-80.

Celi Bee along with her "Buzzy Bunch" is perhaps best known for "Superman" which can be found in both "The Best Disco In Town: 38 Classic Disco Hits" (1994, Hippo) and "The Best Of Celi Bee & The Buzzy Bunch" (1994) [Disco Classics: back on wax, cassette, and CD], [HTCD 34].
Personally, it's a really neat song especially hearing the Superman flying effects background.
It's just my personal taste but i prefer 'Fly Me On The Wings Of Love' & 'One Love' to 'Superman'. I can only appreciate 'Superman' when I'm in a camp/trashy frame of mind (which is often!!! )
SandraDee, was Celi Bee popular in Manchester? "One Love" is another notable song that I like.
I don't think she was discotom. Radio in the UK never played that type of disco; I had to listen to Continental stations like radio Luxembourg to hear this music. Most of her stuff never even got released in the UK to my knowledge. By the time I went to clubs Celi Bee was seen as an artist 'from the past' so i've had to catch up with many of her great records in recent years which has been a very nice experience i have to say!![]()
I know very little about this artist (Im still learning !)Originally Written by SandraDee

I did find a 12" sibgle in HMV a few weeks ago - SUPERMAN b/w ONE LOVE. Not bad at all.
The same for me, "Flying.." is a real stomping and drama like song of more than 12mn. i particulary love the "midnight passion" section.Originally Written by SandraDee
About Superman, there were 2 versions : the slow one and the disco one, the speeder one is much better i think. Another song i like is "hold your horses baby".
My favorite song by her was "Blow My Mind." The DISCONET version has a great extended intro and outro and some coooooooool phazing in the middle.
