What Do You Prefer?

The American / Canadian sound:

Bobby O
Patrick Cowley
Lime
Lisa
etc etc

always seemed to me that the production from across the pond was better. More bass, more feeling & an overall warmer / richer sound. (Dare I use the word "sexier"?)

Or...

The European style?


Fancy
Modern Talking
Off
Lian Ross
et al.

in my opinion, a sound overly synth driven, with a weaker finish. A little too "sterile" and based on a formula which hardly seemed to deviate. (Cold & clinical?)


Exceptions always prove the rule and that Lian Ross track is fantastic, but on the whole I always preferred what was coming out of The States & Canada.


In my opinion (again), the USA hi-nrg sound progressed to House, whilst the Euorpean output naturally morphed into techno & trance.

Of course I could be talking outta my proverbial and no one gives a damn!

Definitely the American/Canadian sound - far less cheesy than the Euro stuff
