And I forgot to mention a record that I have for ages:

Burundi Black, the drums and chants of Burundi which was a smasher in European clubs.

If you want to get deeper in Afro fusions try some King Sunny Aide and his african beats. He uses traditioanal Afro instruments and rhythms and fuses them with electronics and dub reggae stylings.
Island records put out some of his albums in the eighties. Aura is a good one.

Also Manu Dibango done some fine afro funk stuff. Soul Makossa and Abele Dance were singles. There has been a recent best of released on cd .

You can take basically everything on Africanism, subdivision of Yellow Records, with afro house tracks by producers such as Martin Solveig, Julien Jabre, Bob Sinclar, etc...

And dig also in IBADAN RECORDS...
