I remixed a one-off single by a Swedish artist named Annie Anner called "Night In The City" in the mid-1980's. Great song, terrific electronic 80's. This was released in Sweden on the Hawk label.
"Lady O", as aforementioned is a great dance track from Paul Rein, which was also a hit in the Netherlands. There's a beautiful mid tempo pop song on the full length CD/LP called "Stop" (Give It Up) that he wrote with the late Roy Colgate. It's in my all time list of Swedish pop songs. Paul has gone on to write songs for Jessica Simpson and a variety of others. He has also written with Donna Summer, but I have no idea if anything ever came of those sessions.
"People Say It's In The Air" was also remixed by myself, and the Herreys version was a huge hit in gay clubs. Not bad for a group of three Scandinavian mormons. This was the template for Anke Bagger's version of it. If any of the readers aren't familiar with Ankie, get your hands on a copy of "Where Were You Last Night". A great, Hakansson/Norell/Bard creation that sure sounds like Bon Jovi gone eurodance.
I did a cover of "Danse I Neon", which was a Eurovision entry for Lena Philipppson in the 80's. The english version of it "Dance In Neon Lights" I cut on Barbara Doust, which was released on Spinner in the US. As a lover of the most of the Hakansson/Norell songs, I had produced another different pop song they had a hit with: Vivre Auillers by Jakie Quartz was turned into "Remember Me" by Eria Fachin. It remains one of the very few covers the great songwriting team ever had released in North America. Lena, for my money, is a great artist. And even though her Epic english records were not huge sellers, she rocks.
As for Lili & Susie, "Oh Mama" is a blast, and a great track. For me, there's a song called 'Miss You" on their EMI Sweden CD that is a great 'morning music'/'sleaze' track that is really worth checking out.
I was supposed to remix "Canelloni Macaroni" but did not finish it. My favourite Lasse Holm/Torgny Soderberg song is one called "Wherever You Go" by Sofia Kallgren.
As for the lovely Pernilla Wahlgren, it was a known fact that PWL was going to produce her and the unsubstantiated rumour was that she backed out. There is no telling how far the pop goddess would have gone.
