This is why I love Fav' threads__ the recall of some classic tunes that you have totally forgotten like:

    "Davicillo" quoted, "Soul Makossa"_ :D
"tcbgent" quoted," Boogie down Bronx"_ :D
"VideoScooter" quoted, "Magic Wand"_ :D(thanx fo' the info in the house music forum..I'll certainly look that label up)
    "Mixmachine" quoted, "Bodymechanic"_ :D

great call ya'll.....I think socially the electro music genre is closely related to the disco era__ people were dealing with high unemployment, race issues, drug abuse, and overall physic depression__ partying and dancing became a cathartic appeal to repress these social anxieties.

Let me know if you have more great "electro tunes"
    Thanks

I would call some of the "electro tunes" above Italo, some synth pop etc. Doesn't matter. All great music from my "favourite period" the early 80's.
Some of my top 10 are mentioned above but in this article is a good list that covers even more of them:

What do you consider "electro-beats?" Mostly instrumental?

    Whats yo 10 fav' 80's electro-beats.

Not just instrumental, vocals, notably high pitched & vocoder are often used in this music style that was initiated in early 80's.
You'll find a good description of this music style in wiki

I remember an electro-beat clip from the 80s, a ATV or other strange vehicle going through the rucky desert and somebody aiming at it... Can you help me with the name of that beat? ;) One of my favorite...

Well, I am refering to a video clip. And I am not sure if it was really a song. May be an instrumental piece? But definately electro. I still hear that music in my mind. Pam pam paba pa pam!
