    Aleph - Fly To Me

    Me again...

Classic tune...I love it! If anyone else here has heard it, do you think, as I do, that the singer sounds very much like Pete Burns (God/ess of Hi NRG pop)? Especially in the chorus...so much so that I can imagine Pete singing it himself! :D

I don't think he sounds like Pete or Billy (RIP) due to his strong Italian accent. It is a fabulous hi-nrg track though.

    I agree SandraDee,it's a great stomping track.

I remember first hearing it on an old Streetsounds "Eurobeat" album, which also included another classic in Deborah and 'Danger For Love'.

Yeah John, that's where I first heard it. That Streetsounds LP was full of brilliant tracks & really well-mixed together. The most surprising track was 'Hes No.1' by Fantasy as it was such a change in style from 'Youre Too Late'. :icon_eek: Even the cover was great showing a guy wearing a vest in a cool flat with his copy of 'Gay Times' on the sofa. Subtle yet effective. I loved the 80s! :icon_razz:

I rushed out to by Danger For Love on ZYX 12" immediately after listening to that album

Also Aleph & Fantasy - He's Number One (US Spring and a slightly defferent version than the uk record shack release.

Modern Rocketry's Homosexulaity was the same - different 12" to the album track, which was much better. Also loved Cuba Libre - Thank God For Me & I'm Gonna Make You Want Me.

Anyone else recall One Two Three - Runaway from 1983 (Bobby O)?

Oooh and Primitive Desire - Eastbound Expressway, always put me in the mood to go clubbing :icon_lol:

Say what you will but I loved "Male Stripper" by Man2Man and think it's the 2nd best hi-nrg track, right after Laura Pallas: "Earthquake". "Fly To Me" must be high on many a best-ever list as well, and what about "Satisfy My Desire" by Havana! Sir Ian Levine himself recommended that one to me one day in his store in Soho, London. "Satisfy my desire, raging like a burning fire"...

Male Stripper was brilliant but it did blatantly rip off bits of 'Vicious Games' by Yello, don't you think? It also had strong Bobby O influences too; I s'pose nothing's original though eh?:icon_confused: You could've knocked me down with a feather when it sailed into the pop charts in '87.:icon_eek:

It was rather surprising that it became such a big commercial hit. I just expected it to get gay club play only and hit the HINRG charts...
