I think the first 12" import I bought was LET ME FEEL IT by Samantha Gilles - I remember buying it from a specialist record shop in Manchester called SPIN INN. I paid quite a hefty price for it - but it was worth every penny !
I used to shop in Backs Records (Norwich) and ordered my first import, after being told this record hadn't had a UK release.
I was firstly shocked at the extra cost :o and then had to wait two weeks for delivery. grrrrr
Miami Sound Machine - Dr Beat
closely followed by Simplicious - Let Her Feel It. (Anyone rember this tune? class)
Grrrrr even louder when both got picked up by UK labels and appeared at a lower price!
Made me think twice about ordering imports and subsequently missed out on a few tracks, cos they never got a UK release.
I take it our US friends also had to buy UK imports??????

Mine was 'It takes heart' by Greg Perry.

Hi Neil
Sorry, got no e mail from you! :-? xxx
Think mine was In The Evening by Seryl Lee Ralph or perhaps Slice Me Nice by Fancy
"Brick" by Fake was the first import I bought, then "Time Will Tell" by The Twins.
never heard "Brick" by Fake..what year did it come out ?Originally Written by gunbuck
1985, though actually I'm not sure if you guys would consider it Hi-NRG or Italo or more Alternative dance? I always though of it as an NRG track but it's probably wouldn't be considered pure Hi-NRG, I kind of lean towards the Alternative/New Wave slanted Hi-NRG stuff.
There a listing for the group on Discogs.com with the info on "Brick."
