I agree "paul", people are missing the point. Muslim Theology is the driving force in spirituality to justify the reason in what they are fighting for, which is, the essence of Muslin existence, the culture, identity, nationhood and destiny......The major culprit in what they are fighting against is the ideology of a democracy of corperate power and imperialism.---with its plutocratic, patriarchal, and pigmentocratic realities....like decrepit schools, inadequate health care, pervasive commericialization, poor living wages and not to mention pass an on-going discrimination of race and class, Jim Crowism, American barbarism, slave labor all create a unigue and duplicit form of terrorism in the name of democracy in America.......Not to come off anarchisistic.....but is democracy all that great?

Nuke' em is not a very good idea. Who are we going to nuke and where, that's the problem. BTW, I think Discoman simply wants to say that we should destroy those cowards. On which I fully agree. Those people are not soldiers, they are not freedom fighters and they sure are not moslims.

They are criminals, period! But I hate to say that they really are very successful. Their aim is to cause panic and reaction.

If they wish to kill more people, they would use other weapons. Their attacks only have 1 purpose: get people afraid, and make many countries spend lots of money for security. You already see it happening.

An innocent guy is shot in the head coz' British Police have orders to react that way. People in New York will be searched before they enter the subway. There are cameras all over the town and in all public places. Mails and Phonecalls are monitored (even our entries here!). When you chat on MSN, all your messages pass Washington, this is a fact. And when you visit another country you are carefully monitored and even checked before you can book a flight.

So we ARE living in a Big Brother society. Is it all necessary. IMHO, yes. Security has to be tight and we simply have to live with it. Even people who are criticising all those measures should ask themselves: if we don't do it this way, who will be responsible when something happens. Security can never be 100% but we can try!

I guess I am currently living on the 'front line' at the moment....in London, using the buses, the Underground, walking in central London etc. There is an air of concern on the streets. People are looking at each other suspiciously, and if you are Asian looking and carrying a rucksack then expect to have a carriage or a bus to yourself!!

The Brazilian guy that got shot accidentally was a victim of the terrorists as much as all the other people who got killed. He should have obeyed police instructions and no way try and run from them. It's very sad but at the end of the day the policeman had to make a judgement call - it shouldn't change police attitude one iota. On Wednesday I am travelling into town, on the Underground into Covent Garden & back again. I am not apprehensive but may study my fellow passangers a little bit more carefully!!

The London Fuzz busted a cap on his squash (actually 8 ) SO THAT HE WOULD BE UNABLE TO SET OFF HIS BOMB! And don't forget this guy ignored orders and RAN, JUMPING OVER A TURNSTYLE.

All the more reason to assimilate and learn the language of your CHOSEN country of immigration.

Too bad this guy got clipped but he didn't give the London PD ANY REASON AT ALL TO THINK HE WASN"T AN ARAB BOMBER!

no discoman a job well done would have been to stop him when he left home because if they thought he was a bomber then why did they allow him to travel on a bus,all they had was they were watching that address,when he walked out they thought his clothes were suspicious,did your news report that he hadnt renewed his visa? that could give a clue as to why he ran,not a job well done discoman but a massive blunder.
