| Bernie, the problem with Barack here (again) is his corporate agenda. Several years ago he said we could get single payer universal healthcare, the best most preferred way to cover everyone if the dems controlled the congress (both houses), and the presidency. Well, he's the president, the dems have the congress, and the power is in their hands. These guys, not republicans, these dems just don't want single payer. They are in large part owned by insurance, pharmaceutical, and hospital industries. It was Obama who said he wanted transparency yet he's making secret deals with these companies. Here's what I'm afraid of. We'll be worse off with what Obama is offering. If you don't have healthcare you'll be forced to buy one. Add to that, we'll have additional taxes due to shortcomings in whatever plan he'll be offering, and oh by the way, there will be millions of americans who still wont get adequate coverage. Given obama's track record, his program (whatever it is cause I really think that will be driven by corporate interest) for healthcare reform will benefit only the monied interests. It will be similar to the financial industry bailouts. At this point, as a liberal, Obama's rhetoric is empty to me. I know people like Marky and remicks have heard Thom Hartmann play FDR speeches on establishing a truly populist agenda. If you are interested I'll find a link to it. You'll hear the passion of a president who not only talked the talk but walked it despite heavy republican opposition!

| Gee, why am I not surprised. White House appears ready to drop 'public option' White House appears ready to drop 'public option' By PHILIP ELLIOTT, Associated Press Writer Sunday, August 16, 2009 (08-16) 14:14 PDT WASHINGTON (AP) -- Bowing to Republican pressure and an uneasy public, President Barack Obama's administration signaled Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system. Facing mounting opposition to the overhaul, administration officials left open the chance for a compromise with Republicans that would include health insurance cooperatives instead of a government-run plan. Such a concession probably would enrage Obama's liberal supporters but could deliver a much-needed victory on a top domestic priority opposed by GOP lawmakers.

Reality check: like Ted (RIP) , their time to participate is likewise limited ....their chances to move mountains few. Let's do it .....if its "for Ted" --- fine, let that be the generating engine !! *****

| You want to see Kennedy Country? Take a drive through Massachusetts beyond the Boston Beltway. It's Appalachia in the Northeast. The guy was a phony, who duped the people of Massachusetts into keeping him in the Senate for 40 years longer than they should have. |

| AAAHHH, my favorite subject: Politics, or should I say: Poly-Tricks!!! Why? Poly - many or muli-sided & Tricks - games or deceptions!!! Check this out!!! For low income people there's been a healthcare coverage here in the US called MEDICADE, that is also "GOVERN-MENT FUNDED" by State Legislatures. One of the benefits of Medicade is that it covers 100% of all Dr visits, Prescriptions, & all other healthcare issues. The only drawback with it is that you have to PROVE that you have no source of income, or healthcare coverage what-so-ever, and there's usually a LLLOOONNNGGG waiting list of people waiting to get it, due to this Recession and the rising Unemployment Rates!!! Obama's got the right idea with a Government Mandated Healthcare System. If the Govern-Ment is so worried about additional spending, WHY NOT GIVE EVERYONE WHO NEEDS IT MEDICADE ON A NATIONAL LEVEL??? Just think, either way, the people who don't have any healthcare, are going to have to prove that they need it either way, and will have to go through some sort of Application Process, right? This way The US can save money by using what it's already got, and not have to worry about spending money on something else that's MORE COSTLY!!! 'NUFF SAID |
