There's an interesting op-ed piece in the New York Times about President Obama and the whole Cambridge incident and how it relates to the white majority getting worried about their impending role as the new minority.

Besides being a good article, one paragraph that gave me a chuckle was this:

Threatened white elites try to mask their own anxieties by patronizingly adopting working-class whites as their pet political surrogates — Joe the Plumber, New Haven firemen, a Cambridge police officer. Call it Village People populism.

Whites are expected to be a minority by 2042, and beer won’t cool the fury of those Americans who can’t accept the changing racial profile. Read the entire article:

NYT should change that to "threatend white liberal elites..." seems to me liberals call up race most often.

Can't accuse me of being a "white elite" either as I'm bi-racial.

Intermarriage may be the only true solution to race in the USA. I would think that those with a political ax to grind will always find some other way to separate Americans.

Actually a good article until "Ground zero for this hysteria is Fox News, where" then the NYT disintegrates into their unbalanced Fox News hysteria. Rather than contribute to the public interest the NYT continues with their nuttiness.

The first time I've cruised through here in several days and I'm presented with fair and balanced spit and drool from The New York Times...
