Default Apple Publicly Opposes California Proposition 8 Ban on Same Sex Marriage

Apple has deemed California's Proposition 8 proposal against same sex marriage to be a Civil Rights issue and is now publicly opposed to it. They have even donated $100,000.(US) to the cause. Good for them and all those including myself who despise discrimination in any form. Live and let live.

David and I have been together 9 years, next month. And we've been married (in Mass) for 2 & 1/2 of them. With the exception of my brother, no one in my family has ever stayed married that long. Nor been married less than 3 times!

When all the arguments are said & done, I just don't understand why we're still considered as "less than". Solely, because of our gender. (Tho', as an ooooold-school gay-Man {I've been out since I was 15, back in 1974.}, I never thought, in my lifetime, I'd be able to get legally married, anywhere.)

But we're thankfull for people like you, who have the courage and conviction to speak-up.
(Sometimes we really do feel like it's just us & a parade...)

Thanks for taking the time to post that, Bernie!
I was having a rough day and now it's ending on a better note.

Be glad Stephen you aren't in California where what is otherwise a nirvana of an election year ... we've got this one ugly monster that keeps rearing its head and is back yet again .

I wish it weren't an issue at all. I wish someone in a leadership role with brains ....that leaves out Schwarzenegger ...... would come up with a state of California union for gay people that is worded so its distanced a hundred miles from the "marriage" word . Call it a union .... a joint venture ... a love connection ....WHATEVER ... just assign it its own term and let the straight people keep their term "marriage" . Jeeesh its a red herring.

Now here we are with other important issues on the ballot and once again .... here come the busloads of religious zealot conservative pinheads rallying around this one issue .... hell bent once again on stopping gay people from living their own lives .....and then they'll also vote just as STUPIDLY on the many other issues that they haven't the capacity or wherewithal to understand ....

Gay issues are so easy for them .... "ewww ... two guys/gals having sex ...I'm against that "
But the solution here is like so many other things
.... against gay marriage ... DON'T HAVE ONE ...against abortion ...DON'T HAVE ONE ... against higher taxes ...DON'T HAVE TRUMPED UP WARS !!!

I live in a largely hillbilly area of California ... its changing some ...... but the YES ON 8 SAVE MARRIAGE signs are very dominant.

If they aren't up by themselves... ...those YES ON 8 signs will be accompanied by a PALIN/McCAIN sign...... which is nine times out of ten when there's a YES sign up.

I have not seen ONE ..... NOT ANY ...ZILCH ....not one instance of a YES ON 8 sign paired up with an Obama sign. Not once.

The McCAIN crowd ....the fascist ones that chant "USA USA USA" at his speeches and the hate filled Yes On 8 crowd ....they are one and the same.
