Paul, fill me in plz: if McCain is elected president and passes away then of course VP Palin becomes President. But who will become her VP in that scenario?

BTW, like her or not, she did give away a great speech last night and I think she has gained a lot of popularity, certainly with the Republicans. And the Obama team is aware of that! It's gonna be 2 HARD months for both parties I guess coz' the race to the WH ain't exactly over.

The Secretary of State is the third in line after the VP.

Actually, the Speaker of the House (currently Nancy Pelosi) is the next in line, after the Vice-President.

However, if the Vice-President does move up to President, he/she submits a name to congress to suceed them. And a vote of approval will happen after congressional hearings.
