Default A Democratic Victory

for all. Yes, the Dems have captured the House, and I do believe the Senate. Though not official yet in the Senate and with the caveat that we still have that scumbag lieberman. To tell the truth, I'd rather have republican Lincoln Chafee than lieberman even at the expense of the seat.
Anyway, it's a victory for Americans and in general and the world.
We liberals now expect oversight of the executive (bush/cheney) branch as it was intended. Already, the bush crime family has dumped Rummy!
Next I expect a restoration of the constitution, programs for real Americans first and not the wealthy and corporations, and indictments and investigations of ALL the criminal activities this gang has gotten away with!
It's Morrning in America again! Thank You Howard Dean!

Amen Comrade Paul!!

This compassionate Communist is desperately trying to quell the Schadenfreude o.d. I'm feeling!!!!

It's about time America woke up to the realization of da mess we've made in Iraq and took some steps to correct it.

Now the VILIFYING of NANCY PELOSI as Cruella De Vil ( temporarily replacing Hilary C. as the most hated) can begin in earnest. cue gasbag Rush...... "ehh, Consuela,go out & score me some more OXY!!! RUSH NEED OXY!!!! I'm gagging on my own venom!!!!

Datsa right Marky.
If our guys really show some balls, we may have a woman for president, Nancy Pelosi. She is 3rd in line. If those 2 crooks can be impeached, there ya go!
Can see Pat Robertson having a heart attack knowing a woman and a San Francisco liberal at that as President!

Ah-nold won only because he became a "DEMOCRAT" after the humiliating defeat of his propositions last year----he's now leaning way left. I still didn't vote for him... But CELEBRITY trumps everything in AMERICA now. He's a STAR--so he wins. I can live with it. He can't do much harm as things stand.

Even I'm surprised how much control the Democrats were able to wrestle away from the Republicans. I was very surprised when I woke up this morning, but what made me so happy was when I saw the breaking news that Rumsfeld got the boot!

Bernie, that is why I specifically thanked Howard Dean. He embarked on a "50-state" strategy when he became DNC chairman. This meant that he would support, encourage, and speak at places in the country that Dems gave up on in all 50 states. The way the Dems used to do it was just to focus on the winnable areas and hope those would be just enough to win the congress or presidency. Needless to say that strategy failed over the last dozen years.
Having said that, he would be the first to say it was a long term strategy and even he didn't expect such a quick benefit. Regardless, had there not been candidates and support it many of these areas we may not talking about victory today.
By the way, that's the way he campaigned in '04 for the Presidency. He even campaigned in Crawford, Texas. Ironically, Rove believed in his campaign more than the Dems, especially the establishment Dems. That's why Rove always used the psychology bit about he wanted Dean. When Rove says one thing, believe the opposite!

Yeah, Dean surely helped....but the La Cage aux Foley scandale (thank you Stephanie Miller) & Bush's stubborn assertion last week that Rummy & Cheny were staying--really sealed the deal.

Yup, that too Marky. Oh, guess who else won an election yesterday? One of Mix's favorite, Daniel Ortega

Today's comments of our journalists (European) were a little bit less positive.

They say: when a Republican president is in Office for 6 years, when he has the lowest approval ratings for many years, when the Republicans held the two chambers for 12 years, then it's very disappointing to see that the Demos are not causing a landslide but only a small victory????

And to Miss Pelosi: Ok, so you wanna have a new tactic for Iraq? Pull out the troops Missy and then you'll be watching the complete slaughtering of the Sji'ites by the Soen'ites. You don't wanna see that happen do you? I see a lot of babbling tough, I see the dominant role by the 2 gangleaders of the Clinton Crime Syndicate, but I also see a very divided Demoparty!

And instead of cheering and partying, I would advice the demos to be very careful coz' your next president will be a Republican and if you don't succeed now, you'll be swept away the next election.

Johan it's a HUGE victory. Perhaps the euros can't appreciate what happened here.
When the repugs won the house from the dems in '94 they went nuts. The dems had the house for 40 years and they finally snagged it. Incumbency is a powerful thing here. The dems not only won the house a few days ago but captured the senate as well. That is a phenomenal feat! It's a rejection of the Bush Crime family, their governance through fear, the end to fascism and trashing the constitution, etc.
As for Nancy, I'm a little tired of her "let's make nice" with rethug talk. I wanna kick their asses. Believe me, there are a lot of us liberals who feel that way. If she doesn't follow up on at least looking at the crimes from this gang then she will have a brief 2 year reign.
Johan, they are already experiencing a bloodbath in Iraq thanks to the jackass in the Whitehouse. The difference when our guys leave is they wont be in that mix. The US troops have got to leave. Yeah, I would expect a spike in violence but guess what they will have work out their issues. Sure we can help because he made a bad situation worse but right now we are occupiers in a place none of the combatants want us!

Video, don’t waste to much time listening to Paul and his ilk, they are gloating over an hollow election victory where they had nothing to offer, they only won because the home team committed many stuped errors.

Pelosi is moving to the center as fast as she can because She knows her Leftist Liberal views are a no go with this country’s majority, whether other ultra Liberal leftist see it or not the great majority in this country are either Moderates or Conservatives, Leftist Liberals are an endangered species in this land, the electorate some times throws them a bone to keep them happy.

Must of the house seats won are in Republican districts, and moderate Republicans voted in protest against the war results and/or for a change of strategy, how long do you think this seats will be in Democrats hands?, this newbies will be out of there by the next election cycle, besides many of this so call ‘Democrats’ were running as Republicans, the only difference was opposition to the war, in some races the Democrat was as conservative as the Republican.

“Pelosi acknowledged that her party’s return to the majority after a dozen years in exile occurred largely because at least nine fairly conservative ‘blue dogs’ won Republican seats”

Todays Miami Herald

(in an NBC interview Pelosi was glowing and claiming all kinds of mandates she read into this victory, only to be stop cold by Brian Williams with “ do you read all this from this victory ????, even this left of center NBC Anchor was surprise with how full of shit this Liberals are )

Also scholars and Historians point out that this results were to be expected as almost exactly the same numbers of seats have been lost by previous ‘War Presidents’ from both parties, including FDR, Truman, and LBJ.

Democrats have nothing to offer (as we just saw) no ideas –other than more taxes- , no solutions in Iraq -other that ‘cut and run” - and their economics ideas have been ridiculed by the current Economic numbers, that’s why they never even mention “The economy” in this campaign.

The Stock Market is soaring to new records, Unemployment at an all time low since 2000, Productivity keeps growing, Home ownership through the roof, Deficit cut in Half 3 years before predicted, and so on, all this after 9/11 and while fighting a war in two fronts and after surviving Katrina, the worse - and most expensive - natural disaster in America’s history, Palusi knows she can’t argue with success, and she better fold in line with the country or she’ll be out in two years too as her moderate Democrats members may vote with the President.

And don’t forget The President still holds his Veto pen at the ready!!.

The Repubs are gonna hit back now! And hard! Let Pelosi have her 15 minutes of fame And please keep the Clinton Crime Syndicate out of the White House. Oh-oh-oh, the big hugging between Hilariously and Billy

At home, she kicks him in the groin and throws the furniture at him

People seem to forget the Bombing of Iraq by Billy after the heat was on (Lewinsky, Whitewater, etc.)

Video, my man, are sour grapes en vogue this season?

The funniest thing to come out of this is all of the hand-wringing on places such as freerepublic.com.
The neocons and cryptofascists are doing more spin than a washing machine.
