Well, when the Bush Crime Family say they're going to maintain Senate and House control, they meant it. Apparently some early voting problems are cropping up in Florida. Choices for Democrats are being flipped by the touch screen machines for rethuglicans.
The article tries to down play this by stating it will bring out the conspiracy theorists. How many times does this have to happen before it's taken seriously. It's like saying those gravity conspiracist keep pointing to things that always come back down to earth. :roll: Here's an excerpt:

Debra A. Reed voted with her boss on Wednesday at African-American Research Library and Cultural Center near Fort Lauderdale. Her vote went smoothly, but boss Gary Rudolf called her over to look at what was happening on his machine. He touched the screen for gubernatorial candidate Jim Davis, a Democrat, but the review screen repeatedly registered the Republican, Charlie Crist.

By the way, I don't want you Dems out there to get discouraged and not vote. If we have to storm the Bastille because these crooks refuse to allow Constitutional government then so be it. Voting in large numbers is one of the ways we can begin to do that!

Paul, I won't go into the voting problems in the US coz' I'm not informed enough on that subject but in Belgium, Holland and Germany this discussion is also heating up.

The majority of cities in Belgium vote electronic. This is how it works over here.

You go to a poll station, you give your votecard (voting is obligated here) and your ID-card and you recieve a little floppy disk, you go to the booth and you vote on a touchscreen. Then you come out and slide the floppy into a box, that is surveilled by the officials.

But...and this is the rising critic....you don't recieve a ticket that confirms your vote, so you can not control if the system has registered your personal vote.

I prefer the paper forms! Those can be recounted if necessary, electronic votes can not be double-checked.

At least your vote is on a floppy disk. Presumable your vote is recorded on the disk and you can confirm what you voted. Here, you get a "I Voted" sticker? :roll:
The irony here is the company that makes ATM machines that will print your transactions down to the penny and time, can't give you anything that confirms your votes!

No, you can not see what's on the floppy, that's the problem and you have to leave it in an electronic box. So, in reality, you can not check if the vote that's on the floppy is really your vote. If somebody installs a secret program there can be cheatin'.

In Belgium you get an official stamp on your votecard and if you didn't show up, they'll take you to court where you'll be fined € 500!
