Default Question for LGBT community

Hey folks. I just wanted to know how you felt about outing politicians. At the blogactive site in another thread, I mentioned they are outing hypocrite politicians. Mike Rogers who owns that site announced today that Idaho repug senator Larry Craig is a memeber of the Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender community.
I've heard from some who are uncomfortable with outing people regardless. I'm curious to know how some of you feel.

Has anyone here thought about the possibility that closeted gay politicians are smeared as "anti-gay" and targets for "outing" because they refuse to pigeonhole themselves or their kind into a poisonous constituency, the same way blacks, Latins, feminazis, etc. have?

Rodgers should get a job.

Democrats need a platform

The American public cannot be expected to support Democratic candidates until the party unifies behind a solid, respectable platform. Double-speak and double standards are a sure sign of weakness, confusion and overwhelming disorganization. We cannot demand equal treatment for gays, then turn around and intimate that some Republican candidates and officials are closeted homosexuals.
We cannot claim that disadvantaged black Americans are capable of excelling if provided access to opportunity, then publicly and maliciously deride some of our most educated and successful examples as Uncle Toms and sell-outs.
What kind of message does such behavior send? These mixed messages are conflicting, confusing and disrespectful to all. Why must the modern Democratic Party be perpetually negative? We are more likely to succeed if we choose to compete honestly and by directly confronting the issues. The party must stop allowing mouthpieces on the radical left to be its only public representatives.
The Democratic Party must do better. Whining complaints can be replaced with serious solutions. Name-calling can be stopped to make room for open, informed debate of critical issues. We need a viable two-party political system. America deserves better.

From a concerned democrat on the Miami Herald's 'Letters to the editors' section, more proof that the majority are alienated by the Leftist reactionaries that have taken over this Political Party in America.

I couldn't have said it better myselfI'll bet you guys will feel very proud now after reading this :p:p

Vote Republican! They are not perfect but better than the alternative!!

Huh?
Pigeonhole...more like these people are self-serving in there quest for status and self-hating by supporting policies detrimental to their particular groups. Do you mean to imply that Gays, African-Americans, Latins, etc are a "poisonous" lot?
What is a "feminazi" ditto-head?
Who is Rodgers?

Mix, I don't know who this writer is. For all I know it's just another closeted right-wing schmuck. :icon_neutral:
To the extent that you have the Hillary and the Biden type DC insiders, there is probably a little bit of truth in that opinion. These type of Dems are too busy pandering to you dictator loving constitution hating republicans. Why do you guys hate Americans? Anyway if we remove the rethug majority in either house, many of us will like some house cleaning on our side.
The Dems, as exemplified by Howard Dean do have a better plan for America which includes the restoration of our constitution. If you are really interested, the link below lists the 6 point plan.

Republicans, in the last few years, inspired by Herr Rove, have found it a winning strategy to introduce "ANTI-GAY" legislation in state races to induce the right-wing religious nutjobs out of their caves to vote against the legislation (gay-marriage, etc.) and FOR the Republican candidate. In almost every case, they have won these elections by bashing the gays. That a LARGE NUMBER OF HOMOSEXUAL MEN are actually working in these campaigns is the ultimate in HYPOCRISY... closet-case gay Republicans are luring the religious right gay-haters to vote against their own interests....OUT these bastards!!!:evil::evil: If you work against the gays getting equality in the USA--you better not be one of them. Washington appears to be crawling with closet-cases who use this as a way to win elections; once they are in Washington, they don't give a shit about the religious nut-jobs...they suggestively e-mail and sexually harrass their male pages, suck dick and frolic...but when election time comes around they start the gay-bashing again. ENOUGH!!!!:evil::evil:

IF ya hate us and work against us--ya better not be one of us--or you're gonna be EXPOSED and forced to start working as an openly GAY rep or staffer--or switch parties and work for Barney Frank--OR become a FLORIST, HAIRDRESSER or a STYLIST to rich Repugs--they can accept you that way...just ask Nancy Reagan. ;)

Barney Frank. Ah yes; his lover ran a male prostitution ring in the basement of his home. How tacky.

Yeah, and once Barney was caught in a fucked up situation, he admitted it and asked his constituents for forgiveness while acknowledging he is gay. Umm, his constituents have kept him in office since.
Contrast that with punk assed repubs who will blame everything and everyone under the sun and wont have the balls to go in front of their constituents.
What's really tacky is how you wingnuts always try to spin this onto some liberal or democrat. The only thing missing in your response is not putting Clinton in the mix.
