| What about the new theory from a Dutch professor? He states that the climate is not heating up but is just preparing for a new Ice Age???? I really don't care that much about this global warming. I tend to stand by this professor's opinion. What I'm really troubled about is all the poison they put in our drinks and foods, the genetic manipulation of crops and I'm an enemy of microwaves. Seriously, I refuse to eat anything that comes out of a microwave and since I read a serious study about the effect of those rays on the foodmolecules I get really fundamentalistic about it. For the same reason I don't want an induction cooking plate and I don't take pills or medicine and most certainly no anti-biotics. What I do believe in are pro-biotics like Yakult. I had stomach problems for many years but since I began to drink that stuff they're gone. I don't know if that's a Republican or Democratic point of view but I'm 100% serious about it. |

| The republicans of late has been the anti-science party so for now I'll leave it at that. As for global warning, my previous reservations was how much humanity played a part in global climatic changes. The general consensus from most scientist now seems to point to a human impact. Regardless, earth has always experienced climatic changes so we should not be surprised. Johan, I'd be curious to read the studies you have on microwave cooking. Also, please provide me if you can, info on the probiotics you are taking and what benefits they offer.

| Paul, I usually read dutch articles but this is a pretty good one in English. Now before you read it I must tell that I am a very sceptical person on so called wonder-drugs or therapies but people I trust told me about this special milk that is available in every shop in our country. I tried it because I suffered from what's called a lazy stomach (another reason why I never drink alcohol) and after a few days this stuff really helped me. I drink 1 little bottle in the morning and I'm ok for the whole day. http://www.usvitamin.com/probiotics.html This is one on microwaves (BTW, are you really in that biz???? ) Again, I have more scientific stuff but it's in Dutch. http://www.relfe.com/microwave.html Another thing that concerns me is the ionising of vegetables and fruits with gamma-rays. So my point is, don't be so bothered about global warming coz' IMO earth will deal with it itself but let's all be more militant about the food-manipulation. (Wow-what a heavy topic for a saturday night). |

| Thanks Johan. I remembered the probiotic a little. Someone was talking to me about bee pollen. As for the microwave cooking, I will study this a little more.

| Anti-biotics really screw your digestive system up. They destroy the good bacteria.

| So why does almost every Belgian doc subscribe them???? Most people take 'em when they have the flu or a cold and anti-biotics simply don't cure those illnesses  Anti-biotics are only effective in case of life-threatening inflammations, period! And just like San states: they destroy all the good bacterias too. But people like to take pills don't they? At least Belgians are big consumers. A pill for this, a pill for that. They don't know what they all swallow and they certainly don't realise which effects those drugs have on the human body. And here comes the point: Garlic You may like it or not but garlic is a natural and utmost powerful anti-bioticum. Onions are very effective when you have a cold. For simple discomforts, nature has a cure. So read more about herbs and fruits and vegetables and be very careful with chemical drugs. And I'm not a New-Age idiot but too many people have lost their touch with nature and like to depend on the pharmaceutical industry that has done great inventions and things for humanity but has sold a lot of humbug too and in some cases has made people sick instead of curing them. Just let's wait what the effect of Botox will have on those Hollywoodian idiots. Just wait a few years :-o |

| The only bad thing about garlic is it makes your breath smell terrible. I can't stand being around someone who smells like that. You could ward off vampires with that breath.:-P |

| I'm not bothered with that. For some reason I don't find that smell annoying, maybe coz' we are so used of eating it :D But I'm very fond on the smell of Gasoline, Tar, Oil and heated rubber (bumpercars) too but I'm not so happy when I talk to somebody who has drunk beer or alcohol. Something else that has to be promoted very strongly are Brussels sprouts and BROCCOLI. Two delicious vegetables and very healthy (cancer-risk-diminishing)! (BTW, That's the original witchcraft, a subject that I would go into very gladly but it would become too private I'm afraid) |

Firstly. if you remove the entire central shoot in a garlic clove (it's usually a light green colour) this eliminates most of the odour on the breath without diminishing the taste. Secondly, eat raw Parsley after your meal and this too will remove most of the odour from your breath. Both are tried and trusted methods of eating lotsa Garlic and keeping your friends. BTW: Food without Garlic?????? Who's ever heard of such a thing. Most processed meats have Garlic in them, so you probably eat it without knowing. | Maybe, but.... I still don't know why Bernie gave this thread that all-including title Bernie, I can't change the title but maybe you can. "Towards A New Of Living?" BTW, Paulie, I just had some great Spaghetti Carbonara with lots of garlic. It was so good, delicious and overwhelming that one may call it "A Feast". If you want to make it this evening, this is what you need (only, don't use that unhealthy microwave). BTW, how's the weatha in San Diegoville??? Preparation time less than 30 mins Cooking time 10 to 30 mins Quick Recipe Ingredients ½ onion, chopped 2 tbsp olive oil 4 slices bacon, chopped 150ml/5fl oz double cream 2 eggs handful basil, chopped 140g/5oz spaghetti Method 1. Soften the onions in a pan with the oil for two minutes. 2. Add the garlic and bacon and fry for another 3-4 minutes. 3. Add the cream to the pan and then the eggs. 4. Cook the spaghetti according to the packet instructions and drain. 5. Add the spaghetti to the pan with the sauce and stir through to coat the pasta. 6. Stir in the basil and serve. |

| You're funny Johan Hey that recipe sounds good. I am not a bad cook so I'll whip that recipe up sometime. Oh, the weather! It's been unusually cool here the last few days with temps in the low to mid 60's Fahrenheit along with a wee bit a rain. Anyway as I type I see the sun is making a comeback and who knows, we may see 70° F today
