Discoman, you have to be careful here. That the conservative views in the USA were ridiculised by the Lefties is undoubtable. In Belgium we are facing the same process. Everything goes for the Socialists and the Green Party (= New Commies) here.

What are we now facing? A society where people are not responsable anymore and except that everything comes for free. They don't have to work, they steal everything and when they are caught (especially youngsters) they are released the next day because the Socies mean that you create a trauma buy punishing them. BULL :evil:

A society is build on discipline, rules and mutual respect but...the great danger is that the conservative forces are led by extreme religious people who literally base a society on a litteral reading of the bible. There's a great difference to live by a moral code that's based on respect and a moral code that's based on the personal view of Ayatollahs.

That's IMO what's Bernie trying to say. Beware of those extremists because once they will be in power they will not accept anything else but their views. No more popmusic, no more porn, no more normal televisionshows and whatelse?

Intelligent Design is the pseudoscience being promulgated by some deist because creationist teaching was ruled unconstitutional in public schools. Instead of formerly saying "god" created life, they say life had to come about from ID. Their arguments for ID are based solely on what they believe are shortcomings of evolution. I'm not a biologist and what I do know would involve a lengthy post. ID on it's own terms however fails the principles of science:
1 - Observation of the natural world
2 - Hypothesis based on these observations, and key
3 - testable repeatable experiments to confirm the hypothesis and it's predictions.
For these reasons ID does not belong in a science lecture. If they want to teach it in their respective places of worship then so be it. 8)

Your immigrants aren't assimilating, many of your governments turned a blind eye to Al Qaeda until it was too late, your labor laws and tax laws inhibit economic growth, and your militaries are in poor shape.

And then we have 'peace-loving' hypocrites like France, armed to the teeth with nuclear weapons. Spain caved in after the Madrid attacks and is on it's way to becoming a conduit for terrorists into the rest of the continent. Only Tony Blair and the UK has shown that it understands what the real world is about, I guess UK liberals still have brains.

I'm glad my grandparents left Italy 100 years ago for a better and more prosperous life in the US.

Your analysis of European politics is 100 % correct!

But Blair is a socialist, not a liberal. In Britain you have a conservative, a socialist and a liberal party. In Belgium we have 3 federations. The Flemish (= me), the Walloons (French) and the Germans. The majority of the Flemish vote conservative but the Walloons are mainly Socialists and they dominate our national government. That's why our country is such a mess nowadays.

I give you one true fact: when a middle-class person has a job, he usually earns around 1200 Euros. Somebody who is unemployed (=welfare) earns the same, but almost doesn't pay taxes on his wage! And you can be on welfare your whole life here, there's not a time-limit.

So many people ask themselves: why should we work from 9 to 5 if we are less paid (in general) than those who don't and get their money for free? Answer of the Socialists and the Green Commies: this is true solidarity :o :o :o

I can tell you a lot of people here are fed up with that nonsense and more and more people want Belgium to split up in a Flemish state and a Walloon state.
