Hello everyone, I dont know how many listeners are from here cause there are quite a few, but I would like to know from any listeners here if next weeks program should be a double edition? or just the 1 regular program? cause hers's the deal, I had one program set originaly for next week then got a very intresting suggestion from a listener and was asked to do a show of 80's and 70's disco combined so I took to the idea and did a show for it. I am planning on either delaying the original program set for this week tillt he next and having this 80's and 70's special edition. Now, if I get enough votes to run them both, i'll make it a double addition and have 2. What do you listeners think?

I think it should also be a Double Special, maybe you could release one on Saturday and then release the other one on midweek like Wed.

Hi Jimmy M,

Went to Winmx and tried to download the software but I keep getting a "server has internal error" message. Guess they're having problems. Wanted to listen to your stuff so I'll be trying again later. To be honest, I'm not one for sharing and downloading mp3's (at least not yet :) ). Does that cause a problem? Do ALL members have to have files available for sharing? Just wondering 'cause like Madonna, I'm a Virgin over here. :D

LOL, naa you dont have to be sharing any files to get on there. Once you download the WINMX program to find me with the program and other disco lovers with mp3s of disco this is where you find us..there will be at the top of the page a tab that says "chat". Click that and a list of chatrooms will load (takes a while sometimes). When its done loading, look for the room called "70's DISCO MUSIC" and it will also be tagged with some info about the program so ya can't miss it. Once you enter the room (or enter channel as winmx calls it) you will see a list of everyone in the room on the right hand side >>>>>
Find my ID clubdisco1979 in that list, right click it and select browse and you'll find 2 versions of the program for download, a high speed (for cable/dsl, etc) and low speed (for dial up). Choose your speed and select download and let it download. For the rest of today the program will be the only file im sharing but as of tomorrow for the last few days of the week I share some other mp3s so look for the actual show in the list of mp3s if you dont make it over today. The show changes every Saturday with a new one. Also, I see your from the east cost (Jersey), you'll apreciate the show I got planned coming up not this week but the week after as I have planned a dedication to the popular tracks played in the Philadelphia disco scene back in the day (I'm from Philly originaly).

Well, I'm getting nothing but gobbledy-gook when I click on 'chat'. Everything looks encoded or something. This software makes me nervous --- spyware, etc. Think I'll uninstall it until I get a better picture on how to use it. I most likely installed it incorrectly but better safe then sorry. :x :oops: :-?

if u click the word channel on its own above all that gobbledy-gook as u call it lol....then it should list in alphebetical order.as for virusis from downloading in winmx .ive been there over a year and never had a problem..if u stick to the disco room u should be fine as we all know each other and jimmy and the boys make there own mp3's from there vinyl...... :lol:

Thanks for the info but it still doesn't solve anything. What I'm seeing does not need to be alphabetized, it needs to be decoded. All I get are character symbols (%,@,#) and little square boxes with words coming through here and there. Ironically, the first channel to show up without any problem was titled: WHITE PRIDE --- JOIN THE FIGHT AND HANG A NIGGER. Makes one feel real comfortable about joining. Shit like this is why I don't prowl around the internet. Don't worry, I'm not thin skinned and I saw the WINMX disclaimer. Just thought, here I am looking for good music and instead I find these bozos. :evil: :x

I contacted my ISP, thinking they might have restrictions about file-sharing services. I'll see what happens.

nicknack....where ya seen that white pride room ,the rooms about 30 cm's below that starting with 70's disco....yea there should be some kinda rule bout what rooms ya can and cant make...them kinda things really offend me.but the disco room is good and anyone that is in there for any other reason will get blocked and banned.so feel safe that once ya in there u'll be somewhat sheltered from the idiots lol...its amazing how much disco music is about in jimmys room..ya should at least give it a go. :D hope we see ya there :P

OK --- I finally found the room, browsed the files and selected "Extravaganza". Hit download and it went into "remote queue". Nothing happened after that. I know these must be stupid questions and I'm sorry to ruin Jimmy's thread but should I just wait for it to happen? Like I said, so new at this it's :oops: , really :oops: .

I also didn't like this software... and I was also frustrated because I didn't know what to do. Did you get the file yet?

No! And I left the computer online while I went to the store and came back. When I got back the queue was finished but the file was incomplete.

I'm with you. I don't like the software and I don't like the site either as they off ZERO assistance. When all of you click on "Chat" do you see all the strange symbols, numbers and square boxes I see or is just me? Strange stuff... :-?
