Sirius,

the enjoyable part of reading your post is the fact that you took the time to type all the info. "Passion - Flirts" w/ the info, reminds me of looking at the actual record :D that was one of my favorite 12" that year..... Young & Company 12"...... I enjoy Side B. Instrumental as my prefered to listen at a club. However, the ending part on Side A is better :P

by the way, good luck at your show... and let us know what happens

Default "Walking On Thin Ice"

I've heard some buzz on this song (Yoko Ono "Walking On Thin Ice"). How is it? I assume if you're playing it at your show you must hold it in high esteem...

Dear Friends!
I think that tomorrow´s party at the QUEEN ANNE will be
cancelled...sorry!

Dear efunk_adelic: "Passion" was produced by Bobby
Orlando and was a massive dancefloor-filler in Europe.
It´s real classical HI-NRG-Sound. Is BOBBY O from Canada?
About YOUNG & COMPANY: I have to listen to the B-Side.

Dear discodoc: "Walking On Thin Ice" is a strange dance-
able NewWave(?)-Trip from YOKO, shortly released after
JOHN has been killed. Her really disharmonic-harmonic
voice, crazy guitar-FX and all-time-screams "AY, AY, AY"
make this song unforgettable. But it´s not for everyone...
This year several house-remixes had been released...but
the original is certainly better.Maybe I´ll get the Orig.12".

Side B is mainly instrumental... and mixed a little differently than Side A. I hate cancellations

I LOVED Yoko Ono's "Walking On Thin Ice"...but it took awhile. Bobby V. @ Trocadero played this in the druggy sets...it's dance rock with an edge.

Great beat...but then there's Yoko's vocals!!!! You get used to them after time.

My fave line...."I new a girl once...she used to walk across the lake (sounds like "walk across the RAKE"); that used to crack us up!!!

Then there's the vomiting sound...and insistent "I or AYE" repeated over and over. But in the right atmosphere, it's cool.

And was a pretty rare record...at the time. (Every time I say this someone chimes in, "NO, it WASN"T RARE!!!!"...but I maintain it was.) :P

It's been remixed and is currently a club hit. Spare me the pain--"look what they've done to our song, MA"......

Dear markydefad!

The remixes are not that baaaad! Enjoy the PetShopBoys
Remixes, because they are very NRG-Electro-Based.
Danny Tenaglia and even Peter Rauhofer made further
stupid ThumbThumbStuff.
What I´ve been missing on the new release is the
VomitScene from Yoko. But therefore you have an
electronic deranged Acapella of:"I knew a girl...who tried
to walk across the lake...cause it was winter...etc.

Walking on thin ice, great song! I love this one. As much as I know, John and Yoko were working on this track right before John was killed by that animal

Anyway, I even like YOKO's vocals. I read somewhere that WALKING... was one of Nile Rogers favorite dance tracks ever... Anyone here read something about this?

Peace,

zeca azevedo, always walking on thin ice

Default Loved your location...

Hi Zeca:

Loved your location "malucolândia".

Maybe we should write that we live at "roubolândia".

What do you think about it???

Cheers,
