Stephen---I'm at work so I only caught about the last 45 minutes of the show today; I hope to catch the whole show on the Saturday repeat. I liked all the sound clips ("TGIF"/Donna) you added in addition to the music! That you worked very hard on this was evident. Congratulations! Looking forward to more.

Will the extra Saturday repeat be the usual schedule or is it just for this one?
I know it's usually Thursday and Monday. But for people in offices--it's sometimes impossible to listen during work hours. They actually expect you to work!

I loved the show!!! Especially all the promotional mixes with Casablanca commercials.

I also liked the opening with TGIF and On The Radio. The story about the building....

And....I found out I have an original Munich Machine lp with the scratched out numbers. I take it that what you were saying is that these were originally Oasis lp's that got shipped to America and relabled.

As for the Saturday repeats... I was thinking about making them permanent, for Season 2. Thanks for confirming my thoughts.

As for the "Munich Machine" copies; let me clarify...
The OCLP5007 copies were the original US pressings, that were to be released on the OASIS label. But Giorgio & Neil Bogart made the deal to have Casablanca absorb the OASIS roster after they'd been mastered. (Donna had been moved over to the Casablanca label with "Four Seasons of Love", about 6 months prior.)

Hence, the change in label release, to Casablanca, as well as the new catalogue # NBLP7058.

The european copies were released on Giorgio's OASIS label (in the UK, as OASLP502). Except in France, where it was released on CARRERE.

Initially this was just for the season 2 premiere, but I'm glad you mentioned this Marky as it does make sense to offer another repeat at a day and time when people aren't at work and might be at home. I'm all for a Saturday repeat.

I always thought it was destiny and fate...the perfect Kismet...that OASIS and Casablanca came together.

They share a desert theme, especially with the early artwork of the Casablanca label.

They were meant to get together.

..."Moroder's one request was that his new US label have the same name as the small label he had started in Germany. That name was Oasis. A company called Casablanca with a susidiary named Oasis? You had to love the Karma.

So we had our first subsidiary label, and the only expense we would incur was the small cost of developing the ***artwork."

P.S. I went back and remixed 4 or 5 of the "iffy" transitions, and added another interview section to the episode.
Hopefully, in time for upload of the Saturday & Monday broadcasts.
I won't tell you what's changed, but I will say that everything, incl. the intro & sign-off, are tailored for "Return To Casablanca".

FYI, I came into work just to hear the program (the sound is not working on my home computer!)

The whole show was tastefully put together and the interview with Larry Harris was surprisingly candid. Loved how he dished ole closet queen Merv Griffin--that cheapskate! Record companies had to pay him to allow acts to perform their records on his show! What a skeeze.
