So a new year arrives and hopes, aspirations and good intentions all come with it. One thing that has not changed however is the Happy Jazz show and its music policies and direction. As always, we aim to provide you with musical entertainment that not even a top billing in Vegas could match! (*note to self - let's not go too overboard eh?). Don't believe me? Well, listen and decide for yourself if thats the case or not.

In the first hour there is a double helping of beautiful Scandinavian jazz from pianist Staffan Abeleen and his Quintet via his "Downstream" & "Persepolis" LP's. Great jazz vocals, including the big big sound of Anita Moore & the TSU jazz ensemble. There is music via Colombia, Puerto Rico, Senegal, Mali and Benin too so be sure to dig out them summer shorts and bask in the heat!!

The second hour includes classic Strata East sounds from Clifford Jordan (so so nice) and euro jazz via the Michael Naura Quintet. Jose James and Christian Prommer bringing it up to date and more sweet Brazilian goodness! And...Ssssh! a few library records thrown in for a touch of intellectualism to round off the first show of 2008.


Many thanks to all our regular listeners for tuning in. Both Mark and I look forward to providing you with another 12 months of fantastic music. As always, we will be bringing you a 2 hour Brazilian special in February and another one of our featured "South American" specials due to the popularity of the last one. Cannot wait!!
