Love songs with a disco beat were songs that gave hustle and touch dancers the opportunity to move to a beautiful melody and flowing arrangement. "Love Is Just A Heartbeat Away" from the "Nocturna" soundtrack was such a number. Although the film did not last a long as the 2 big disco numbers from the soundtrack (the other being "Nighttime Fantasy" by Vicki Sue Robinson) it was a film that remains an underground rarity. Gloria Gaynor was a the top of her form here. Her vocals exercise a yearning that can be felt throughout this cut. I have taken the track and added a few more breaks and chorus' to express a new emotion. The cut was produced by Reid Whitelaw and Norman Bergen. Many of the musicians were disco's finest included Don Renaldo on strings and horns and The Sweethearts of Sigma on backup vocals.
