Dalida is eternal. Allora, great to see you spinning one or the Diva's finest, even though in a (needlessly) remixed form! :-)

Dear JussiK!
I´m also very into DALIDA and this HouseRemixes aren´t so
bad, because there are enough disco-elements inside.
Do you know if there´s a long version in original from her???

Sirius I really love your taste in music; your lists are always interesting to me. You have some brilliant Hi-Nrg tracks here like Cinema, Laser & Yvonne Elliman. You've also reminded me of a track I heard years ago but never heard since which is the Freddie Hubbard/ Jeannie Tracy track; is this available on CD do you know? Also, when is that Nightlife Unlimited track from? I've recently bought the 'Disco Choo Choo' LP on CD & I love it so I'm looking for anything else by this outfit.

Dear steely dan!

Thanx for your compliments...
About the FREDDIE HUBBARD-Album "Splash": Be warned, that
only the title-song is really danceable. JEANNIE is doing her
singing job and FREDDIE plays saxophone real wild. If there´s
a 12" available, then only buy this one.

About YVONNE ELLIMAN: Her "Love Pains" was originally from
1979 but this version is much better, because of the nice
NRG-Line. Even LIZA MINNELLI did a cover-version of this
track in 1988 with the PET SHOP BOYS.

About NIGHTLIFE UNLIMITED: They released an album in 1980
called "Just Be Yourself". It is not that good as "Disco Choo
Choo", but has usefull dance-tracks. "Just Be Yourself" is a
more rocky track and as 12" it is much better remixed with
a heavy and hard bassline.

Do you know the 12"-Mixes called "HOT PLATE"? Here you
will find all the important tracks of the early 80ies in HI-NRG
and finest PostDisco in one mix. In Europe these tracks has
been released on RamsHorn.

I have not seen one. She does Besame Mucho on the dvd Dalida Eternellé, along with many other disco flavoured titles - get the dvd from Amazon France.- Ah, luckily it's a house mix you're spinning and not one of the not-so-good mock hard tekkno efforts, with nothing but sharp banging clashes as backbeats. House as we know is the offical offspring of disco and should be looked upon with kindness...

Dear JussiK!
Certainly I play HouseSound if not an original is availabe...
Techno is empty nowadays. Sometimes there are really
mad house-mixes like Madonna´s "Vogue" with Chic´s
"I Want Your Love"-Strings or Prince"Kiss" with Daft Punk
together.
As I said Dalida´s "Besame Mucho" has been remixed with
a lot of respect with a latino-flavour, disco-strings and
certainly her fascinating voice.
