Barry, I seriously love the way you are so far reaching with your sourcing for tunes. Do you use any rotation formula ?? Are there songs in high rotation ..... etc. ?

I'm glad you're playing even more 70's Motown because I think there's a wealth of underplayed disco stuff there.
I was never criticizing by the way ....I was just asking about what I thought might be a conservative use of Motown stuff and it got me wondering what limitations you were under when it came to being able to play certain labels etc.
How great to know ......there are none !!!

Keep getting the music out there !!

Hey Mark,
Barry told me they just switched to a new stream/website provider and everything is a mess! The website is apparent down but you can find the station at iTunes. Hopefully, everything will be fixed soon!

hey mark and keefe and everyone else,

radioio recently switched to a different company that provides our streaming and websites. things are still in the transition process, and, as a result, access to RadioioDisco is temporarily limited to this page:

http://www.radioio.com/

on that page is a button for every station.

click on the Disco button and that will take you to a temporary player.

all our other streams (itunes, etc.) should be back up soon. until then, this temporary page and player should tide you over.

and no, you do not have to pay!

sorry for the inconvenience and thanks for your continued interest in RadioioDisco!

hi folks,

i thought i'd let everyone know that RadioioDisco is back on iTunes!

as before, you can find RadioioDisco in the 70s/80s Pop section in the Radio listing of your iTunes player.

i'll let you know when the www.radioiodisco.com page is back.

in the meantime, you can access RadioioDisco at www.radioio.com by clicking on the Disco button.

enjoy!

I just opened the website radioio.com and what do I see there?
Radioio Disco changed to Radioio Disco Hits.
Now Eddie George hosts the radio.

What happened there, Barry?

This happened a couple days back. Shameful move by radioio. I sure hope Barry can find another outlet for his superb presentation of music from the disco era--popular & underground, domestic & foreign, uptempo & downtempo, always in the longest mix available and very "imaginatively programmed." I agree with Mark - Radioio made a big mistake by moving to a Top 40 Disco Hits format! Kinda like when Clear Channel takes over a radio station - it's all about ratings over quality. If you look at some of their other stations, you can tell they are trying to attract a younger market - I mean who is going to listen to a station devoted to the music of video games??? Radioio could have been special, but I guess finances took center stage. The times we live in!

Let's hope that some other innovative Internet radio station will try to woo Barry into their fold and soon!

What's this ....radioio K-TEL disco ......with all the same obvious disco classics you hear while grocery shopping at Albertson's ..... only now you can enjoy in your own home without having to push the shopping cart around....

I'm sure there is a market for using the "big hits only" approach.... good introductory disco ...... but how great to have had a presentation that actually dug in deep.... that so generously shared the awesomely full spectrum of disco........

So why not have both !!!?
Two stations to choose from .... Disco 101 AND Disco Connoisseur ???????????

Barry, I miss you already !!!

Isn't it a shame that so many good internet Disco stations disappear?

When a great concept like Barry's RadioioDisco is hitting the airwaves it's not given a fair chance.

Here in Belgium all the stations are pumpin' the same junk 24/7, mostly stupid Fm Rock, uninspired R&B and crap pop. Elvis fired his gun at his television when he didn't like the program. I wonder what he would do to his radio nowadays?

Barry, I sincerely hope that you find 1 way or another to get the GOOD Disco back on the air!
