I found the Italian pressing of "Hills of Katmandu" first, and I always thought it made more sense. It's a single LP, backed with the similarly-themed "Wishbone". It has appropriately trippy cover art, unlike the strangely spartan cover of
The Double Album. The other tracks on
The Double Album don't fit in at all to me; they sound like they were from another group... and the more that I listen to it, the more that I think they are.
There are some interesting additions to this remix/re-edit particularly the arrangement. A few of the added sounds stick out a bit too much to my ears though.
