OMG! I'd seen the "I Remember Yesterday" video, when it came out. And after 33 years, I'd forgotten what a baby-face Donna was! (But, weren't we ALL?) The Village People's "Just A Gigolo" is great. (Even if there's no real choreography.) And most people forget, that song was played just as much as "Macho Man", when the LP came out. And the "Take Me Home" video is priceless! The surprise ending is friggin' charming and the comedy element is pure CHER! (too bad the last couple seconds were chopped-off) P.S. Needles, Sandee & Kris: Thanks guys, SO much, for the supportive comments. Consider SLF's BTM - Season 2 as the Casablanca Season! I'm pulling-out all the stops!

| I do find it somewhat amusing that Casablanca had to resort to a archived video of BBC's "Top of the Pops 2" programme, in order to show the video of "I remember yesterday" on their site. Good old Auntie Beeb, eh? I wonder if Casablanca have considered contacting the mighty Beeb direct, their video archive is obviously quite extensive, so maybe they might just have that Costandinos video lurking somewhere in its entirety...

Darren, You'd be surprised what's missing, our take for the YouTube Channel is to gather as much footage as possible, from any source, to bring Casablanca to life once again. We've been told by some of the higher ups at the parent company that the "RUMOR IS" all of the video/film elements at Casablanca were purged into the trash at some point in the early 1990s but we're working very hard to get some official releases happening and locate as many broadcast masters as we can track down. If anyone has old 2", 1", 3/4" Umatic, 16mm film or even Beta tapes please get in touch. Stay tuned, Curt |

(but that's not terribly rare, anyway...) As for the book... The photos are nothing to write home about, but are obviously 'personal' in nature. So that lends to better, immersing yourself in the mental picture that comes with Larry Harris' narration. But... The credits are wrong on one of them. Which, in itself, isn't a big deal. But, because of the 'when', 'what', and 'who' of the error - it could, as easily, be a personal mistake, as an editorial one. If that's the case, it speaks to the amount of creative embellishment that's incorporated. It reads that Curt Gooch and Jeff Suhs were fairly heavy-handed, in editing / re-writes. But there's enough of Larry Harris intact, that it can still feel like a 'conversation'...of reminescence. And that makes it very easy to put yourself "into the picture", so to speak. But... There's these calendar-squares of current events, peppered throughout the book, that rip you right out of the picture-in-your-head, as soon as you turn the page and your eyes catch them. ...big editorial mistake. By Chapter 3, I'd read a 'BUDDAH' story, that was waaaaay off-base. In sequence, and by omission of an actual story that's legendary for AM radio. But, I'll be the first to admit that 'time' can, progressively cloud memories, and the numbers, names and dates, that go with them. Still... This man started-out in the industry, at BUDDAH, with Neil. So, there's certainly no lack of credibility, in his reciting the story. But a bit more 'fact-check' would've helped. The complete Discography (albeit a Godsend!!! But no 7" or 12" single (or 'NBD' series info) is included, at all. Also missing: Chocolate City, Oasis, Douglas, Millennium, Parachute, EarMarc, Big Apple and American International. The 2-paragraph dedication is touching. But reads like it was written by two, different people. And the Preface / Prologue stories are wonderful! But... Very often a story... an idea... a transition... seems as if forced to have an ending. An 'underlined-period' feeling, at the end. A last 'whack of the hammer', that (again) pulls you out of the picture in-your-head. Commonly with, from one sentence, to a couple paragraphs, too many. Now... That having been said... A very belated, "Thank you so much, Larry!!!" You, Neil and Cecil grabbed hold of me, by the balls, when I was 15 years old, and didn't let go until I was 21! You guys created, built, nurtured and laid-out-a-direction for, one of the most important components of who I was... who I became... and who I am. Neil didn't, simply "ma(k)e his mark..." on my life... He (or rather, Casablanca Record & Filmworks) is part of my life. So, to everyone, I'm shouting... "Whatever It Takes!!!" Get this book! It's the one we've been waiting, 30 years for!!! @ Amazon.com: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087...SIN=0879309822 DAVE (as 'Bobakazoo'): "But I can't dance like that." JACKIE: "Sure you can. It's easy. You just get out on the floor and shake your ass, like it's on FIRE!!!" TGIF still rocks!!! "...in between a dance routine she picks-up a blue-eyed, blonde Marine ("hi, Sailor..." she's a Disco, Disco... Disco, Disco Queen" http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/087...SIN=0879309822

| Mr Freeman I am curious - what story on Buddah is wrong regarding what AM radios story? Larry Harris By the way Big Big decision on the timeline boxes, and some people love them and others find them distracting as yu did, but I wanted someway to show us oldies and the younger readers what was going on then aside from the little world we lived in. I wanted something on the bottom of easch page the pub wanted nothing so we compromised |
